About This Pub
Ah, the Hussey Arms – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a warm hug when you walk in, especially if you're in Brownhills or popping over from Walsall. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the staff are the real stars; they're chatty, helpful, and make you feel right at home, whether it's Julie greeting you with a smile or them bending over backwards to accommodate your order. The food's a winner too – think generous portions of comforting classics that won't set you back much, perfect after a day exploring the local parks. It's got that family vibe down pat with outdoor play areas and kid-friendly options, and you can even catch the big games on the telly. On the flip side, if you're one for late-night eats, the kitchen closing at 9pm might cut your evening short, and while it's generally spot on, there might be times when it's a bit hectic, as one review suggested. All in all, it's a reliable spot for good times and great value, but it's worth keeping in mind it might not have that one-of-a-kind charm some independents offer. If you're heading that way, I'd say give it a go – you might just find your new favourite local haunt.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely brilliant – always welcoming with a smile and going the extra mile, like keeping the kitchen open late or swapping menu items to suit you.
-
The food is spot on; think hearty Sunday dinners, delicious breakfasts, and cracking burgers that offer great value for money, especially with deals like tucking in for a tenner.
-
It's a proper family-friendly spot with plenty for the little ones to do, making it ideal for a relaxed day out after a walk in the nearby parks.
-
The place is clean and tidy, which really adds to the comfortable atmosphere, and they've got all the amenities sorted, like free WiFi and a car park.
-
You can catch live sports here with Sky and TNT, plus it's inexpensive overall, so it's perfect for a casual get-together without breaking the bank.
Cons
-
Food service wraps up at 9pm, which might feel a tad early if you're out late and fancy a bite.
-
While the reviews are mostly glowing, that one four-star mention hints it might not be flawless every time, perhaps with the odd busy moment affecting things.
-
It's part of a chain, so it has that standard pub feel, which could lack a bit of unique character compared to more quirky local spots.

Great staff. Food good. We had Sunday dinners and a chicken meal. Very nice. Plenty for kids to do. Clean and tidy. Will visit again.
We went for our first breakfast back at the Hussey Arms for a little while and Julie welcomed us back with a smile and great service as always.
The food was delicious and fast. I didn't want bacon so I was able to swap it for something else.
They accept blue light discount as well and the food is a fair price regardless...theres nothing I could complain about.
A superb place to eat, me and my parter had been traveling up from Brighton all day and managed to make it here for some food. It was just before the cutoff point of serving food and the staff kept it open for us and took our order. So so thankful for that, plus the food was amazing!
Top quality as always from a Greene kings restaurant, and the place was immaculate. Looks great and is a proper traditional building.
Always enjoy the food here lovely atmosphere andgreat staff especially Julie Probert who welcomed to our table early and always with a smile, great service
I recently visited the Hungry Horse restaurant and had a delightful experience. I ordered the burger and steak combo, and I was thoroughly impressed with both the quality and portion size. The meal was not only delicious but also well-priced, offering excellent value for the money.
The burger was juicy and flavorful, cooked to perfection, and paired wonderfully with the succulent steak. The portions were generous, ensuring I left feeling fully satisfied.
The only downside to my visit was the wait time to order drinks, which took about 15 minutes. This delay was a bit frustrating, but the friendly staff and the quality of the food more than made up for it.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Hungry Horse for anyone looking for a great meal at a reasonable price. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait when it comes to ordering drinks.
