About This Pub
You know, I had a right good time at the Shoulder of Mutton in Brownhills – it's one of those unpretentious spots that just feels like home. The atmosphere is spot on, especially when they're hosting things like 80s nights; it's all about that community spirit and having a laugh with friends over a pint. The staff are genuinely welcoming, and since the new management stepped in, it's become even better – they've sorted out some fantastic drink deals that make it easy on the wallet. Plus, if you're into sports, you'll love how they show live matches; it's brilliant for settling in with a game. On the flip side, it's a tad on the small side, so on packed nights it can get a bit cosy in a not-so-comfortable way, and there's no food on offer, which means you might need to plan ahead or bring something along. All in all, it's a proper little gem for a relaxed catch-up, but it's not the place for a fancy meal or if you prefer somewhere more spacious. I'd say give it a go if you're in Walsall – it's got that warm, down-to-earth charm that's hard to beat.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is absolutely brilliant, especially during events like 80s nights – it's a real laugh and makes for a memorable night out.
-
Friendly staff and the new management have turned things around, creating a welcoming vibe that's improved the place no end.
-
Affordable drinks with unbeatable offers, so you can enjoy a cold pint without breaking the bank.
-
They show live sports every day, perfect for catching the big games like football or rugby with mates.
-
It's dog-friendly, which is a lovely touch if you're popping in with your furry companion.
Cons
-
It's quite small, so it can feel a bit cramped on busier evenings, making it tricky to find space.
-
They don't serve food, though you can bring your own sandwiches if you're peckish.
-
The pub has a very old-fashioned, quirky feel that might not appeal to everyone looking for something more modern or polished.

Went the other sat , was an 80s night, great atmosphere great night
This pub has been taken over by Lee who along with his staff are fantastic. There used to be a time
in would not step into this place but over the last 3 or 4 months it's proven to have changed for the better, much better. Very small and does not serve food. One of the proper true pubs. Karaoke, discos, singers, special events and friendly people. Prices are average. Don't let it's past deter you ots changed for the better. Recommended.
Loved spending time in here seen all the family and all our old friend we had an amazing time
Tiny little back street old fashioned pub with a great atmosphere. Has an open invitation to anyones whose struggling with heat to come down and get warm .you can even bring in your own sandwiches
I've looked back on a few of my reviews, and apparently I like quirky places.
Well this is a little quirky pub. Typically local like, and that's good.
Live music from Kevin Ruby Aston was smashing.
Decent beer too. 🤠
