About This Pub
Ah, The Hundred Acres – it's one of those neighbourhood pubs that feels like it's finally finding its feet again. I have to say, the new management has done a cracking job sprucing things up; it's cleaner, more inviting, and they're making an effort to welcome families and even dogs, which is just lovely for a casual outing. The staff are proper friendly, always up for a chat, and the drinks prices won't leave you out of pocket. Plus, it's great that you can pop in with some grub from the nearby BBQ van or Chinese takeaway. On the downside, not having food on the menu means you might need to plan ahead if you're peckish, and there was that one review about them being unhelpful with a phone charger – sounds a bit off, doesn't it? It does get busy, so you might have to hunt for a seat, and while it's not the flashiest spot around, it's got that genuine local charm that's improving all the time. All in all, if you're after a relaxed pint with the community, it's worth a visit – I'd say give it a go and see for yourself.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, always making you feel right at home with their chatty nature.
-
It's wonderfully dog-friendly, which is a real treat if you're out with your four-legged mate.
-
Drinks are reasonably priced, so you can enjoy a pint without worrying about the cost.
-
Under new management, they've given the place a much-needed facelift, turning it into a cleaner and more family-oriented spot.
-
They're flexible about food – you can bring your own in, and there are handy options like a BBQ van or Chinese nearby.
Cons
-
They don't serve food on-site, which can be a bit of a letdown if you're after a full meal with your drink.
-
There was that one off experience where they weren't helpful in a tight spot, like refusing to lend a phone charger – feels a tad rude.
-
It can get pretty busy at times, making it tricky to snag a table when you fancy a sit-down.
-
Some say it's not quite the top pub in the area yet, though it's clearly on the up with the new team in charge.

Halloween night , i was out and my phone had died , i went to the closest public place which was this pub . I politly asked if they had an iphone charger they said yes and i asked if i could charge my phone a little bit to get hold of someone they said no and laughed. My opinion that is rude and unsafe because it was on halloween night
Colin, the new landlord is doing a brilliant job of making the pub a good, clean, family venue. Drinks are a reasonable price and although there is no food available, there is a bbq van next to the pub and the Chinese opposite. Who knows perhaps in the future we may be able to get a bite to eat. He makes children welcome as well. Being a local. Colin is (in my opinion) the perfect person to turn a once bad news pub into a place the locals can be proud of.
Under new management better, trying to get family's in as u can c even dogs that r behave , go along and try
This pub has turned its self around due to the owners being fantastic its a brilliant pub to go to much better than the white horse
Estate pub tucked away in the estate adjacent to the local shopping hub. Recently taken over and given a much needed facelift. Busy at times and is a place for drinkers. Called in and had a pint. Staff were friendly and was able to grab a table. Got the impression it was mostly local people in there after a long day at work.
