About This Pub
Ah, The Hope & Anchor in Liverpool – it's one of those pubs that just draws you in with its warm, welcoming feel and all the makings of a great night out. From the reviews, it sounds like the staff are generally fantastic, with stars like Luke and Jess really shining through by going the extra mile to ensure everyone's happy and well-catered for. The drinks menu is spot on too, packed with craft beers and cocktails, especially during their summer specials, and it's a brilliant spot for catching live sports on the big screens or enjoying a bit of pool and darts in a buzzing atmosphere. That outdoor area is another plus, perfect for soaking up the sun with mates. On the downside, though, there have been a few moans about service not always being up to scratch – think long waits or the odd mix-up with orders – which could spoil the fun if you're in a hurry. All in all, it's a solid choice for anyone after a good laugh and some quality time with friends, especially if you're into sports or group events, but I'd say it's best to keep expectations realistic and maybe pop in when it's not too hectic to get the full experience.

Cons
-
Service can be hit or miss at times, with some reports of long waits for drinks and food, which might leave you a bit frustrated.

Occasional slip-ups with orders, like mix-ups over table numbers, can put a dampener on things if you're not prepared.
-
Not every team member seems as on top of it, as one review highlighted poor customer service that fell short of expectations.

A large group of us came in for breakfast, Luke and Jess could not have done more for us! Really went out of their way to make sure we were catered for and looked after. The pub on the whole is a great spot, great beer selection, plenty of large screens for the sport and a good outdoor area. Thanks again Luke and Jess!!
Jess is the best! Literally make her manager already! Such a fab experience at B.B…she deserves a pay rise - great vibes, brill atmosphere, wide range of choice for food…amazing experience
Booked a bottomless brunch and genuinely had the best time! Luke and Grant took good care of us, regularly checked up on drinks and gave us incredibly good portion sizes on the wings and nachos - one of the best Bottomless Brunches I've had, great atmosphere and attentive staff. Couldn't recommend more!
Good Atmosphere and offering of entertainment with Pool and Darts, sports TVs and different seating areas alongside a Photo Booth. Pool is pay by card and the bar uses the MiXR app which can get you good discounts. It’s a sound pub that has a student orientated crowd. It’s good for various sports and there’s outdoor smoking areas etc.
Caleb at this location has absolutely no right to be titled the manager. The customer service skills we received were abysmal. After waiting 45 minutes for 3 drinks to be made and food to come we got informed our table number was not correct. The food had been delivered to another table (which may I include they ate and did not pay for). They refunded our order of the food, but made us pay for the drinks again, assuming that I could afford this as the refund takes 48 hours to come through. Customer service should be the number one priority for anyone working within this sector and the standards of this “bar” are severely lacking. Steer clear if you’re looking for a good time as the energy the staff emit bring the whole mood down.
(Picture includes the table number which they switched in order to further make it feel as though it was our fault and not a staff member mistake).
