About This Pub
Ah, The Fly – it's one of those Liverpool spots that you stumble upon and think, 'This could be a regular haunt.' From what I've gathered from folks who've been, it's got this warm, inviting atmosphere with decor that really pulls you in, making it perfect for a casual evening with mates. The beer selection shines with some cracking cask ales and cocktails that hit the spot, and if you're up for a laugh, their quiz nights are an absolute treat – I hear the hosts keep things entertaining and the prizes are spot on. Plus, it's got that fascinating backstory as an old bakery, which adds a bit of intrigue. On the downside, though, the draught and craft beers don't quite live up to the hype, so if you're a beer enthusiast, you might find yourself wanting more options. It can also feel a tad quiet on off-peak times, like a Sunday, and there've been a few whispers about the staff not always being as approachable as they'd like. All in all, it's a solid choice for a pint or two, but go in with realistic expectations and you'll likely have a great time.

Large bar with a large selection of bottled beers. A little disappointing selection of draught lagers and craft beers. We were there on a Sunday afternoon. The place was very empty.

Had no food. Loved the decor and atmosphere, although it had been decorated and in my opinion esthetically from the outside went from very traditional and classy looking to a bit cheap and nasty complete with signs advertising shots and cheap cocktails, this didn't spoil my experience. Good beer selection. Pleasant surroundings. Definitely would return.
Joined some friends for a quiz night during the week. The pub is really nice, and we enjoyed some lovely cocktails! Plenty of TV screens showing football. Nice atmosphere in the pub, made better by the great MC hosting the quiz! Bonus that our little team won the quiz and a bar tab!
Shame we aren’t locals as I’d come up every week!
Very good Liverpool pub about 10 minutes walk from Lime Street Station. 5 cask beers on handpump when I visited including a stout. A few tables outside.
The pub has an interesting history as Kirkland's Bakery and its name comes from their slogan 'no flies in the loaf'.
