About This Pub

Ah, The Hop Emporium – what a lovely find if you're into your craft beers and a bit of market buzz. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, this place really shines with its top-tier selection; think a rotating lineup of IPAs, sours, and all sorts that keeps every visit feeling new and exciting. The staff stand out too – they're genuinely welcoming, always ready with a smile and some helpful tips, which makes popping in feel like catching up with mates. And don't overlook the food scene; it's surrounded by stalls offering everything from tasty pizzas to Thai and Mexican dishes, so you can sort a full evening out in one go. On the flip side, though, it does get packed quickly, especially on busier days, so you might find yourself hunting for a spot or standing with your drink. Plus, the operating hours look a tad muddled, and without a proper website or phone number, it's not always straightforward to plan ahead. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed pint or a catch-up, but I'd say go early to beat the rush and make the most of it – it's got that charm that keeps folks coming back for more.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • A cracking selection of craft beers, with ever-changing IPAs, sours, and bitters that keep things fresh and exciting.
  • The staff are absolute gems – super friendly, always up for a chat, and happy to offer tasters or advice to help you pick the perfect pint.
  • It's got a great vibe in the market setting, with loads of food options like pizzas, burgers, and international eats right nearby.
  • Overall, it's a welcoming spot that's earned high praise, making it a reliable choice for a good night out.
Cons
  • It can get really busy and fill up in no time, so you might end up standing or waiting for a seat.
  • The opening hours seem a bit inconsistent from what I've seen, which could catch you out if you're planning a visit.
  • There's no phone number listed, making it tricky to check on availability or sort out any quick queries.
  • Online presence is just an Instagram page, so it's not the easiest place to get detailed info before you go.

I travel from Essex to Warrington bi-monthly & always make sure I stop here. Such a great little craft beer spot, with a really good selection of ever-changing IPA’s, sours, bitters, you name it! Staff are always super friendly & willing to give tasters & information. Will continue to come here everytime I’m in the area

We made the short trip from Manchester to Warrington just to visit The Hop Emporium and it did not disappoint. The selection is top tier with something for anyone and everyone's tastes. The service is where things really shone. The two ladies behind the bar were extremely friendly and very accommodating offering samples of anything on the taps. One of the cans I purchased to drink was bad (it was an IPA that was completely grey, a tell tale sign of oxidation in the can) They replaced it with a different beer at no charge and appreciated that I brought it to their attention. They cracked a second can of the oxidized beer to check if all cans were like that and found that can was completely fine...they let us drink that one at no charge as well. I cannot say enough great things about this establishment and I would highly recommend anyone looking for great beers and great service to check it out.

These place is the absolute 💣! Great range of food from pizzas, burgers, Thai food, Mexican food and many others! 2 bars, 1 cocktail and the ultimate - Hop Emporium with a multitude of cask, draught, bottles and canned beers from many countries and creators. It never fails to please my family and I on our regular Thursday night visit/date night without the now older kids 💙😉

Visited the hop emporium on a Friday after eating at one of the market food stalls. There was a really good variety of Belgium larger, Ipa's, DIPA, and best of all sours. They even had pomono island on tap which I've only come across in Manchester. Loads of seating available and food stalls surrounding the area

There’s always a fantastic choice of ale served at this bar - The Tiny Rebel Yipee Try-Yay British IPA was simply superb. Really friendly staff are on hand to assist if in doubt. If you see a seat - grab it as it fills up very quickly- a victim of its own success. Give yourself a good 10 minutes if walking back to either of the 🚂 stations.
