About This Pub
Ah, Friars Court Inn, it's one of those places that sticks in your mind, for better or worse. I've heard from mates that when it's on form, like during a gig with live music, it can turn into a cracking night out – think singing happy birthday with the crowd and soaking up that warm, communal vibe under the stars. It's tucked away in Warrington and keeps late hours, which is brilliant if you're up for a proper sesh after dark. But, and there's always a but, isn't there? Some folks have had a rough time with the door staff, who can come across as a bit aggressive and quick to accuse, leaving you feeling less than welcome. Then there's the service; stories of drinks running dry on busy nights and the place feeling a bit neglected, with sticky floors and facilities that haven't changed since the '80s. Overall, with a rating hovering around 3.8, it's got its loyal fans, but I'd say it's worth a punt if you're in the area, just go in with your eyes open and maybe check it's not one of those off nights. Keep it balanced, eh? The good times are there if you catch it right, but don't expect perfection every visit.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
It's got that classic old-school pub feel, which can make for a right good night if you're in the mood for some live music and a bit of community spirit.
-
They stay open late into the night, perfect for those who fancy extending their evening out in Warrington.
Cons
-
The door staff have been known to be a bit heavy-handed and not always welcoming, which can really put a dampener on things.
-
Service can be hit or miss, with tales of running out of beers and facilities that haven't seen much love over the years.
-
Some evenings might leave you with sticky floors and music that's more miss than hit, making it feel a tad rundown.

Ran out of many beers , not great for a Saturday night , been coming in here since 1988, toilets exactly the same
Absolutely disgusting bouncers here, false accusations made towards me and my husband for trying to enter here and then threatened by them to top it off, gross place, honestly wouldn't ever bother, literally everywhere else in town is much better and more welcoming than this overpriced dump
If you want to be threatened by door staff this is the place for you. Terrible service from the moment we walked in. Tried to kick us off the table several times. Then the bouncer threatened to cave my head in after I'd been to the toilet. Absolute disgrace of a place. Jumped up security guards dressed like their interviewing for sas who dares wins. Absolute losers.
Fab night.... only popped in for 1 (and a wee) but ended up staying the rest of the night. Gorgeous evening outside with live music. Was out for my friends birthday and as it turned midnight we sang happy birthday to her and everyone joined it. It was amazing.
The drinks were few, the people many.
It was everything I expected and less. The floor was sticky and the music was awful.
Full of smokers. I'm never going back unless I need somewhere to throw up.
