About This Pub

Ah, The Haverstock Tavern, what a lovely spot it is! I've got to say, it's one of those pubs that just gets it right – that handsome Georgian building has been a staple for over 150 years, and you can feel the history as soon as you walk in. The beer garden stands out as a real highlight; it's spacious and inviting, making it perfect for a sunny afternoon or even watching sports outside. They've nailed the drinks menu with a solid range of craft beers and ales, and the food is genuinely tasty – think hearty Sunday roasts with the best Yorkshire puds or those festive burgers that sound like a Christmas dream. Quiz nights add a fun twist, and the overall vibe is just so welcoming, with staff who go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. On the downside, it's a shame that not every sports match has sound, so you might miss out on the commentary now and then. And while most experiences are positive, there could be the occasional niggle like a brief wait or it getting a tad busy, but honestly, it doesn't overshadow the good times. All in all, it's a solid choice for anyone looking for a proper pub experience in London – I'd definitely recommend popping in for a pint and seeing for yourself!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The beer garden is an absolute gem – it's the largest in the area and perfect for soaking up the sun with a pint in hand.
  • They've got a fantastic selection of craft beers and cask ales, making it a real treat for beer enthusiasts.
  • The atmosphere is brilliant, with lively quiz nights and a warm, welcoming vibe that makes you feel right at home.
  • Food options are spot on, especially the Sunday roasts and festive specials like that mouthwatering burger – proper pub grub done well.
  • Staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, always on hand to make sure you're having a good time.
Cons
  • Not all the live sports games come with sound, which might disappoint if you're keen on catching every bit of the action.
  • There might be the odd minor hiccup, like a small service issue or getting a bit crowded, based on what some have mentioned, though it's not a deal-breaker.

This is a beautiful, hospitable place with a cosy beer garden and a nice tradition. You can also watch soccer and other important sports event, even outside. Attentive staff will make sure you feel welcome. Sunday's pub quizs are great fun.... One of those places you latently feel you shouldn't write too good about because too many people will see it on here....

Nice independent pub that we found on a stroll in the area. Drinks are decently priced, lovely little back garden and the food looked and smelled great. The rugby was on and there were screens all around which allowed all tables to have a good few. Drunks we're cold and delicious Only downside, some glasses weren't always clean and you could see lipstick.

First port of call trying a few different pubs before a gig. Looked like a great pub with a good beer selection, food options and a beer garden. Will definitely come again when I'm in the area next.

This is a great pub that appeals to the local community. They have recently made some changes so there is now a dedicated dining area (although food is available throughout the pub). They also have a nice beer garden. They had 3 cask ales but I opted for a double Makers Mark at £10. They have now started quiz nights on Sundays, these are proving popular. They show live sporting events and have added an additional tv. The service was good, both friendly and informative. This is a nice pub, somewhat more laid back than the pubs down the hill in Camden Town.

Lovely pub with a great atmosphere. We really enjoyed the food, we all had roasts and the quality was evident in the cooking of everything, including the vegetables, excellent nut roast too, delicious. Friendly, enthusiastic staff, a range of great beers, wines well-chosen also. And I've learned there's a fortnightly jazz night on a Tuesday, so I'm definitely up for that. Nice one!
