About This Pub
Ah, the Sir Richard Steele – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local hideaway, you know? I had a great time there the other day; the staff are absolute legends, always up for a chat and making sure you're sorted with your drinks. The decor is brilliant, all those walls covered in film and music bits and bobs – it really sets the scene for a fun vibe. Plus, with live music and events on offer, it's easy to lose track of time enjoying the atmosphere. They've got some decent beers like Mahou on tap, and the food hits the spot if you're in the mood for something simple like wings or a burger. On the flip side, though, the drink choices can be a tad disappointing if you're after a wider range, like proper ales, and it's not right in the thick of things, so you might fancy a short walk from the main drags. All in all, it's a solid choice for a night with friends – honest, it's got that heartwarming pub feel without trying too hard, but it'd be even better with a few more options on the bar.
Pros and Cons
Pros

The decor is a real treat – packed with eclectic movie and music memorabilia that gives the place a unique, lively character.
-
Live music and events bring a buzzing atmosphere, perfect for a fun night out without the tourist crowds.
-
They've got a solid beer selection, including favourites like Mahou on tap, and some tasty food options like burgers and wings.
-
There's a pool table and a nice outdoor area, ideal for a relaxed pint when the weather's on your side.
Cons
-
The drink selection can be a bit limited at times, with only craft beers available and no ales on offer in some visits.
-
It's tucked away a little from the busier spots, so you might need to make a bit of an effort to get there, though it's still a pleasant walk.
-
The food and drink variety doesn't always hit the mark for everyone, especially if you're after more traditional pub grub.

Great pub up the hill from Chalk Farm. It’s far away enough from the touristy busyness of Camden, but still nicely walkable to get a more friendly local feel.
Staff are friendly and having Mahou on tap is a great bonus. The decor is eclectic and interesting, with a pool table on offer too and live music on certain nights.
The food menu of burgers, roasts and a few classics looks good at reasonable prices. Not tried it but will certainly return to do so in future.
Worth a little trip up the hill from the main drag.
It’s a great local pub with fantastic service and lovely people.
Incredible decor with all walls plastered in movie and music memorabilia. Drink selection is ok but only craft beers when we went and no ales available.
Only popped for a quick pint on the way to a gig, but would definitely come again. A good beer selection, options to eat as well and interesting decor!
Good neighbourhood pub. Vintage decor, good space, and nice outdoor area. Came here a couple of times for cheeky Tuesdays - half price off everything. Hot Wings were tasty, Bucket Ol' Fish came out hot and crispy. Tater tots was topped with cheese and sauce. We had burgers last time, and they were delicious - it was a good good ratio of bun to filling, and it wasn't greasy.
Would definitely recommend checking out this pub if you're in the area!
