About This Pub

Ah, The Lord Southampton – what a lovely little find in the heart of London! From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, this place really nails the basics with exceptional food that's hearty and full of character, like those mouthwatering Sunday roasts and bar snacks that folks rave about. The staff are just brilliant, making everyone feel welcome from the get-go, and the cosy decor adds such a warm touch that it's perfect for a relaxed evening with friends. On the flip side, the opening times seem a tad unclear, which might leave you scratching your head if you're trying to plan ahead, and being a walk-in only sort of place, it might not suit if you're after something more organised. Overall, though, it's a solid choice for anyone looking for a genuine pub experience with great vibes and tasty grub – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, but maybe pop in early to secure your spot.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot-on, with standout dishes like the Sunday roasts, burgers, and those delicious prawn pints with curry sauce – it's all homemade and full of flavour.
  • The atmosphere is so cosy and inviting, with warm decor that makes you feel right at home, especially after a long day.
  • Service is top-notch; the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, always going the extra mile to make your visit special.
  • They've got a fantastic selection of drinks, from pints of Guinness to a thoughtful wine list, perfect for unwinding with mates.
  • It's a beautifully restored pub in a great London spot, near places like Chalk Farm and Hampstead Heath, making it ideal for a local catch-up.
Cons
  • The operating hours can be a bit confusing based on what's listed, so you might want to double-check before heading out to avoid disappointment.
  • It's more of a walk-in spot without much emphasis on bookings, which could be tricky if you're planning something special or have a large group.
  • Not much info on prices or a phone number, so it might be hard to get quick details if you're not already nearby.

Aimee and Phil have created something truly special; the atmosphere, food, and service were all exceptional. From the warm welcome to the thoughtful wine list and ever-changing menu, everything feels personal and full of care. The pint of prawns with curry sauce was so delicious, and the chicken liver parfait was rich, smooth, and beautifully presented. You can really tell how much love goes into every dish. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate. Aimee and Phil make this place feel like a home away from home. Can't recommend it enough 🌸🧡✨

Popped in for a quick pint after a long hard week at work. Second pint in was feeling in such a lovely relaxed mood.. Stayed on the rest of the night! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome and friendly. We highly recommend the burger, easily one of the best we’ve had in London. The flavors were spot on, and you can tell everything is freshly prepared. The beer selection is another highlight, a great variety! You can tell there's real thought behind what’s on offer, not just the usual generic taps. The pub itself has been beautifully renovated. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it an ideal spot whether you're out for a casual pint, date night, or a meal with friends. Prices are also reasonable, especially for London, great value for what you’re getting. It’s dog friendly too which we loved. Thank you Amy! We’ll definitely be back! Sarah, Pamela and Coco

Beautiful Pub serving the best pint of Guinness I have had in the UK! Delicious Sunday Roast, staff are very friendly and kind! The Roast Beef was 10/10 much better than the Stag, Garden Gate, The George and The Roebuck! We will be back!

We indulged in the roast beef, it was delicious & homely! Stilton sausage roll was also lovely but the mushroom croquettes were a crowd fave! The decor caught my eye, particularly the dark green, I loved it!
