About This Pub
Oh, what a treat The Havelock Tavern is – it's one of those classic London pubs that just gets it right without trying too hard. I've got to say, the food really steals the show; their seasonal plates and specials like the Korean chicken or that unbeatable Sunday roast have left me coming back for more, and it's all so reasonably priced you'd think it's too good to be true. The staff are an absolute delight, always on hand with a smile and a recommendation, whether it's for the wine list or the bar snacks. It's got that laid-back feel where you can pop in for a quick pint or settle in for a full meal, and being dog-friendly means it's perfect if you're out with your furry friend. On the flip side, if you're after a place with lively music or a more formal dining experience, it might not quite hit the mark – it's more about easy conversation and good company here. All in all, it's a solid choice for anyone in the area looking for a welcoming spot to unwind, and I'd definitely recommend giving it a go for a taste of what makes London's pub scene so special.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food here is absolutely spot-on – think seasonal dishes, cracking Sunday roasts, and deals like the Prix Fixe menu that won't break the bank.
-
Staff are genuinely warm and attentive, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
It's a relaxed, welcoming spot with a music-free vibe that's perfect for a good chat over pints or a meal, and it's super dog-friendly too.
-
They've got some fun events like Wing Wednesday and match screenings, adding a bit of excitement to your visit.
-
The beer garden is a lovely touch, with covers and heaters for those typical British weather surprises.
Cons
-
The music-free atmosphere might feel a tad quiet for those who fancy a bit more buzz or background tunes.
-
It can get quite lively on busier evenings, so you might have to wait for a table if you haven't booked ahead.
-
While the menu's innovative, it sticks to pub-style grub, which might not thrill anyone after something more adventurous or upscale.

Aidan was fantastic! He delivered a memorable service and might I add, the food was exceptional! - please please PLEASE, order the Korean chicken (sharer plater) as it was super tender and flavoursome! 10/10 and thank you
We had the 2 course Prix Fix - food was delicious and reasonably priced. Staff were very pleasant and attentive.
A lovely pub! The wine list is excellent, the bar snacks delicious (the sourdough and butter exceeded our expectations divinely!) and Inigo the barman was funny, knowledgeable and charming. An aromatic real fire and very good dogs too. We will come back!
Best sunday roast and sticky toffee pudding I’ve had in London (!!), staff were super friendly. So underrated - this is your sign to go here for your next Sunday roast. Youre welcome 🙂↕️
Wonderful British pub experience with excellent food. Best place to take your first dive into the traditional fish and chips. Highly recommended to any travellers! Locals most likely already know what a gem they have nearby.
