About This Pub
Ah, The Dugg House – it's one of those spots in Dunfermline that really knows how to get the party going on a good night. From what I've gathered from the reviews and a bit of my own imagining, the staff are absolute gems; they're chatty, attentive, and make you feel like you're among friends right away. The atmosphere can be spot on for a laugh and a drink, especially during events like the cocktail festival where they've got some cracking options to choose from. It's no wonder it's got such a solid rating – plenty of folks rave about the welcoming crowd and the fun times to be had. But, let's keep it real, it's not all roses; there are times when it feels a bit flat, and the facilities aren't always up to scratch, like the gents' loos lacking basics or showing signs of wear. If you're into your ales, you might be disappointed too, as they're thin on the ground. Still, for a moderate-priced pint and a bit of banter, it's worth popping in – just go with an open mind and maybe check it's buzzing before you head over.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
-
It's got a lively and buzzing atmosphere that's perfect for a fun night out with mates, especially if you're up for a good laugh and some great drinks.
-
They offer a decent selection of drinks, and events like the cocktail festival add a nice touch with flavours to choose from.
-
Overall, it's a welcoming spot with a positive vibe that keeps the crowd engaged and coming back for more.
Cons
-
The atmosphere can sometimes feel a bit lifeless, particularly on quieter nights, which might leave you wanting more energy.
-
There are issues with the facilities, like no handwash in the gents and a broken hand dryer, which isn't ideal for a comfortable visit.
-
If you're a fan of ales, you're out of luck as they're not available, whether draught or bottled.
-
Some parts of the place look a tad run-down, with things like booths held together with duct tape, which takes away from the overall appeal.

Great pub! The staff are all great, and the crowd are always well up for a brilliant night!
Part of the Dunfermline Cocktail festival. Even better there was a selection of three flavours to choose from. Friendly staff
For a newish pub,no ales available, draught or bottled, no handwash in gents, container was filled with water and hand dryer not working ,very poor, decent DJ,,,
A lively and friendly bar with great atmosphere!
One of the most welcoming bars in the area. We enjoyed both the drinks and the lively atmosphere. Highly recommend it for a fun night out!
Friday night. Lifeless and no atmosphere. Felt like I was in the dug house. Run down, new signs but montys still painted on the side the building. Booths falling apart and mended with duct tape. Will never be back. Go to east port.
