About This Pub

You know, when I think about The Grosvenor Arms, it really stands out as one of those hidden gems in the Brixton and Stockwell area – it's got this lovely Victorian feel that's just charming without being stuffy. From the reviews, folks are raving about the beer taps; there's a massive variety, all well-kept and fairly priced, which makes it a brilliant choice if you're into exploring different brews or just fancy a reliable pint. The staff come across as absolute stars, always ready with a smile and some solid advice on what to try, which adds to that homely atmosphere, especially when you're settling in for some sports on the telly. On the flip side, it's not the most energetic spot; a few have mentioned it being a tad quiet, so if you're after a wild night out, it might come off as a bit understated. The pizza's alright for a quick bite, but it's not going to be the highlight – think of it as a nice add-on rather than the main event. All in all, it's a solid pick for a relaxed evening with friends, and I'd say it's worth popping by if you're in the neighbourhood, as long as you go in with the right expectations for a more laid-back pub experience.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The beer selection is absolutely spot on, with a fantastic range of 25 taps including craft beers and ciders – it's a real treat for anyone who loves a good pint.
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and always up for a chat, offering helpful recommendations that make you feel right at home.
  • It's a great spot for catching sports on Sky and BT, with a welcoming atmosphere that's perfect for a relaxed get-together with mates.
  • They serve fresh pizza daily until 10pm, and from what I've heard, it's fairly priced and hits the spot after a few drinks.
  • Tucked away in a residential area between Brixton and Stockwell, it's easy to get to and has that cosy, local pub charm.
Cons
  • It can feel a bit quiet at times, which is lovely if you're after a peaceful pint, but might not suit if you're in the mood for a buzzing, lively crowd.
  • The food, like the pizza, is decent enough but nothing to write home about – it's average and won't blow you away.
  • Opening hours start a bit late on weekdays (from 4pm), so if you're keen for an early drink, you might have to plan around that.

Absolutely red hot pub with tremendous staff and a welcoming atmosphere. Beer is fairly priced as well as the pizza. Great dough and toppings! You can tell the beer is well kept as everything is fresh and properly served. Staff always keen to help and offer recommendations on their fantastic range of beer. They always offer gluten free and alcohol free options also! Great spot for a quiet game of pool and a couple of fine ales. Always come back here and will do for the foreseeable! Cheers guys!

🚇 Stockwell 🍺 £6.00 Paulaner The Grosvenor Arms is located in a residential area on the border between Stockwell and Brixton. The nearest Tube is Stockwell, it’s a five minute walk to get here. This Victorian pub dates from 1867 and closed in 2014 with developers ready to pounce. Thankfully the local community saved the pub but unfortunately the pub had lost its Victorian interior. The Grosvenor reopened its doors in 2019 and now operates as a brew pub, it is the sister pub to The Priory Arms in Stockwell. This is a good size one bar pub that has an eclectic contemporary feel. The servery is tiled, has a solid wood counter and is located on the back wall. The walls are painted bottle green and adorned with a number of beers signs, mirrors and a couple of large TV’s. The seating is a mix of different styles of benches and traditional tables and chairs. There is also a pool table and a couple of old-school arcade machines. If you want to imbibe alfresco, there are a few benches outside. The beer selection is superb with 25 beer and cider taps to choose from. The beers frequently rotate and offer tipples from London breweries like @anspachhobday and Canterbury brewers @flocbrewing , the pub also brews its own Lager. I noticed they served @paulaner which is a favourite of mine, my pint was excellent, price point was average at six quid. The food option here is pizza. I arrived around 2.30pm on a warm Saturday afternoon in August. The pub was calm and relaxed with a dozen or so punters in attendance. There is a nice local feel to the pub and it was easy to settle in. The service was great, the chap behind the ramp was all smiles and welcoming. The pub shows live sport on Sky and TNT and hosts a Pub Quiz. The @grosvenorarms17 is lovely laidback local with a superb range of beers, this pub is well worth a visit if you’re in the area. ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 03.08.24

Good Stockwell pub located between Brixton and Stockwell tube stations. One cask ale and one cider on gravity feed when I last visited. The Affinity Brew Co Grosvenor Gold which I was drinking was a pleasant pint and very good value at £3.95. The Grosvenor also serves about 20 craft beers and is home to the Affinity Brew Co brewery. A few tables outside which can be covered by an awning. The pub offers pizzas between 17:00 and 22:00 every day.
