About This Pub
Ah, The Goods In in Prestwich – it's one of those places that really grows on you with its bright, airy space and welcoming feel, especially if you're popping in for a coffee or a quick bite after a stroll in Heaton Park. I've heard from a few mates that the service is spot-on, with staff who go out of their way to make you feel at home, and it's brilliant that it's dog-friendly too, so you can bring the whole family along. The outdoor area is a real gem on sunny days, perfect for soaking up the rays with a drink in hand. On the flip side, though, the food can be a mixed bag; some reviews rave about the unique dishes and vegetarian options, but others aren't as keen, pointing out that things like the chicken burgers are a bit subpar and not worth the coin. Plus, with limited opening days, it might not always be an option when you fancy a pint. Overall, it's a solid spot for a casual get-together if you're in the area, but I'd say keep expectations realistic on the grub and focus on the good vibes – it's got that community feel that makes it a favourite for many.

Really nice place, good atmosphere and great service. Tried the new Chicken menu but it wasn’t worth the money. The chips, chicken wings, and cauliflower wings were ok, but unfortunately the chicken burgers were very poor quality thigh meat, similar to pre-packed ones from a frozen food shop. One of the burgers had the tiniest piece of chicken and it didn’t even fill half the bun. Personally, I’d have felt embarrassed sending that out to somebody. If you’ve eaten a burger at Northern Crafthouse there is absolutely no comparison. I wouldn’t let it stop me coming back to try breakfast and coffee as this looks good, but I wouldn’t eat off the chicken menu again.
Arrived at 11.30 on Sunday (today) with wife, daughter, and two hungry grandchildren, having been for a walk in the park. After 10 minutes ordered food and drinks, after a further 10 minutes we're told they've run out of french toast so we alternate to a second childrens breakfast. Ten minutes later were told they've run out of chips for the children's breakfast. So we change the chips to toast. We're told at this stage that a delivery hasn't arrived. Drinks arrive eventually but it's another 25 minutes in the cold with no sign of food that we decided to pay for drinks and leave. No apology for nearly an hour waiting. I've been before and it was nice but I won't be going again. Too cold, poor service, and food that didn't arrive. Shambolic. At home it took me twenty minutes to make bacon, scrambled eggs, beans, and toast for five. Less than a tenner, and it's warm. I know which I'll choose next time.
Lovely place, right next to Heaton Park metro. Only had a brew and a cake but it’s spacious, light and airy, with nice, big booths and a sunny back yard (looks like a good set up for DJ’s too)
Coffee was good, sweet stuff was from Silver Apples, so pretty familiar and more than decent quality. Staff were super friendly. Will definitely head back and try some proper food and drinks soon
I’ve eaten here 3 times now and I love it every time. Delicious unique food, lovely atmosphere, lovely staff, dog friendly and affordable. I’ve always got a seat straight away too due to the size of it.
Nice place across the road from Heaton Park with outside dining. It was very hot when we visited so we had a light lunch and coffee. Has vegetarian options on the menu. My son always get the French toast of course. Coffee was good.
