About This Pub
Ah, The George – what a lovely little spot it is, tucked away in Little Brickhill. From what I've gathered, it's all about that classic British pub feel with a fresh twist, run by Simon and Louise who clearly put their heart into it. The food stands out as a real winner; think mouthwatering Sunday roasts that leave you satisfied, or those traditional dishes with a hint of Mediterranean flair, all made with seasonal local produce. It's got this easy-going, family vibe that makes it perfect for a casual catch-up, and the garden's a treat in the warmer months for al fresco dining. The staff are just brilliant, always on hand with a friendly chat and ensuring everything runs smoothly, which really elevates the experience. On the flip side, it's a shame it's shut on Mondays and Tuesdays, so you might have to plan around that, and it does fill up quickly, meaning booking's essential to avoid disappointment. Overall, it's a solid choice for pub goers looking for good grub and a welcoming setting – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, as it's one of those places that leaves you with a smile.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on, especially those Sunday roasts – they're proper hearty and packed with flavour, using fresh local ingredients that make every bite feel like a treat.
-
The staff are genuinely warm and attentive; you can tell they care about making your visit memorable, with smiles all round and that personal touch that makes you feel right at home.
-
It's got a lovely relaxed, family-friendly vibe, perfect for a casual get-together, with a beautiful garden for outdoor dining in the summer – ideal for soaking up the sunshine with a cold beer.
-
They've got a great selection of beers and a menu that blends traditional British classics with a subtle Mediterranean twist, offering something for everyone without overcomplicating things.
Cons
-
It's closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, which can be a bit of a nuisance if you're planning a mid-week outing and fancy a pint.
-
The place gets busy, so you'll need to book ahead, especially for Sunday lunch, which means it's not always the spot for a spontaneous stop-in.
-
Being a village pub on the outskirts, it might feel a tad out of the way if you're not local, though that's part of its charm for a peaceful escape.

Recent Reviews
We are fairly local to The George, and have been a couple of times, always pleasant, easy going and good food and beer.
My brother came over from New Zealand and we visited and spoke to Louise about using the well-sized conservatory to celebrate his recent nuptials with friends and family from home.
I'm not exaggerating, Louise and her staff were first class. Over-accommodating, very welcoming, and super friendly, and we really aren't the easiest bunch to please, but my brother was absolutely overjoyed with how things turned out, as were we.
I cannot praise this lovely pub, the owners and staff, and even the local drinkers at the bar. It's a very friendly place, and if I was close enough to walk, I'd probably be there every night.
10/10
The service we received was very helpful and friendly when we entered the bar. A nice selection of beers was on offer.
We had the choice of eating in the bar, dinning or outside area.
The food was delivered quite quickly and looked very appetising. Everything looked freshly made and was delicious. Would definitely go back again.
My daughter (6) said “this is the best restaurant I’ve been to in my life” and that “this restaurant is very grand”. Really good Sunday roast, lovely host, George the weimaraner dog was great with the kids. Will definitely be back soon!
Lovely roast dinner. Beef was perfectly cooked. Most impressive thing though was the professionalism and attentiveness of the staff.
How hospitality should be done, each of them with a smile on their face and you can tell they genuinely care about your experience! If only all places trained their staff like this!
