About This Pub
Ah, The Fox Hanwell – what a gem it is, tucked away by the canal in Hanwell. I've got to say, it's one of those pubs that just draws you in with its cosy setup and that inviting open fire, making it ideal for a catch-up with mates or a relaxed afternoon. The staff are an absolute treat, always cheerful and ready for a chat, which really enhances the friendly atmosphere. And the drinks? Spot on – they've got a cracking range of ales and ciders, especially during their events like the beer festival, where you can soak up the sun in the beer garden surrounded by twinkling lights. It's also super dog-friendly, which is brilliant if you're out for a walk and fancy a stop-off. On the flip side, though, the food menu is a bit on the pricey side, so you might want to check that before diving in, as it could add up quickly. Plus, from what I've heard from a few folks, there have been times when the grub hasn't quite hit the mark – think cold veggies on a Sunday roast or needing to sort out your own extras, which is a pity because the place has so much going for it. Overall, it's a solid choice for a good time, but just keep those little niggles in mind to manage your expectations. I'd still recommend popping by for the vibes alone!

-
It's brilliantly dog-friendly and hosts fun events like beer festivals, making it a great spot for socialising and enjoying the local charm.
Cons
-
Food prices can be a bit steep, so it might hit the wallet harder than expected, even if it's on par with other pubs in the area.
-
There have been a few gripes about food quality, like some dishes arriving cold or not quite up to scratch, which is a shame for a place with such potential.
-
Service can sometimes feel a tad lacking, with things like having to fetch your own cutlery, which takes away from the relaxed experience.

Went for a catch up with friends on the bank holiday on a sunny, lovely day. Arrived at 12.30 enough time to grab a seat before the garden filled up with patrons.
The fish and chips looked great. It’s an expensive menu but compared to similar pubs in the area it’s slightly cheaper. Didn’t expect to find a pub like this in Hanwell, with a buzzy community enjoying a cold one in the sunshine. The canal is next door which is handy for a beautiful walk.
I enjoyed this lunch and the atmosphere. They had some nice flowers with nice scents and the location, decor, staff, the general positive, family vibe of this pub makes it somewhere you wouldn’t want closing down as it would clearly impact the local community - it would be a huge loss.
This was such a beautiful find on my group walk along the Grand Union Canal. What a beautiful quaint piece of history in the middle of the country. I didnt eat and noticed food prices were high but it was worth the stop off. Lovely atmosphere and friendly people too. Would visit again.
Starts of the beer festival. Lots of out door seating. Lots of choice of beer and cider. Lovely staff.
Lovely pub, let down by the Sunday roast.
Broccoli was stone cold and raw. There was only a splash of gravy and we had to get our own cutlery and condiments. A little disappointing seeing that it cost £55 for three of us.
Can't fault this pub. The atmosphere is so nice, soon as we entered the outdoor seating area we felt a buzz, everyone was happy and on good spirits and lots of cute dogs around. The service is amazing and the staff are so friendly and polite. The food was delicious 😋
The grounds were kept nice and clean.
Great pub.
