London has many pubs, but there is only one Dodo. If you are like me, you might think you don’t like beer.
You are wrong. You just don’t like poor-quality beer, which is what you get served basically everywhere. The Dodo is different and only serves the most flavourful, strange and exotic suds on offer. There is more to choose from than I can possibly list here.
The owner, Lucy, is lovely, and can answer any questions, or make recommendations. I told her I have a sweet tooth and I don’t mind an IPA if it’s not too bitter. She brought me something called a Deadrise. It was cold and it was delicious and I had another.
There’s also house rum that is sweet, mild and sippable. Goes down a treat. Reckon I’ll have another one when I finish writing this.
While it is true that you can find beers here you won’t find elsewhere, and that its charm is also uniquely cosy and inviting, what really sets it apart is the genuine feeling of being in a “pub,” a social club where everyone is welcome, as long as you abide by the sign hanging in the bathroom:
Just be —— nice, okay?
So be nice, drink beer that surprises you, and enjoy an authentic, unpretentious atmosphere like no watering hole in London can offer.
Best pub in London, no questions.
Dodos are also cute, a great mascot, and hopefully Colossal Biosciences will reanimate one soon.
Until then, drink Dodo.

If you're tired of a predictable beer selection you’re in for a treat. The Dodo has an ever-changing excellent choice of craft beers at reasonable prices. The option to order many beers as a third is brilliant – perfect for those wanting to explore different styles or who aren't sure what to choose. Other things I loved
* 🕺Vibe - warm and welcoming. I had no idea what to order. But the landlady Lucy, and Ally helped me whittle things down. I had no idea I was into Sours.
* 🐶 Doggo friendly - I don’t own a dog. But really enjoyed watching some of the four legged regulars pop in.
* 🍻Atmosphere - it’s a small cosy room. Kinda like a wine bar. The music is kept at a low volume so there’s no way you’ll have to shout to hear people speak.
* 🥘 Food pop ups - although they don’t have a kitchen, they have food pop ups and you can bring your own in. I had an amazing Caribbean roast at their monthly event.
The people running the place are passionate about their beer and create such a friendly and inclusive environment. I’m not surprised they have pub awards. You’re not going to find many places like this in London so it’s well worth a visit.
I love this little place!
We've visited twice now, the first just a quick pop in for a drink but last night we booked a table, took bananagrams, had a few drinks and enjoyed the Caribbean pop up. The food was from nearby Heart & Soul and was amazing!
Super friendly staff and it's really small and cosy.
Awesome place - table service (too small for anything else really) and seemed popular - on the Saturday before Christmas - without somehow being crowded. Had 3 cask and 3 keg options (with a separate bottle menu). Beer is dispensed from a room towards the back rather than the bar due to scale. Shame it closed at 10:30 and forced me somewhere else!
Superb wee bar with a warm welcome. Thoughtful and stylish decor. Nice selection of beer. I enjoyed their own Gin and tonic too. The Landlady is clearly a key part of her community. Wish there were more places like this. Highly recommended. Food only on the day I visited but they host food pop ups and events regularly.
