About This Pub

You know, I had a right good time at the Prince of Wales in Hanwell – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem. The staff are absolute stars, always going out of their way to make sure you're looked after, and the live music nights are brilliant fun, with great bands and quizzes that get everyone joining in. It's got that cosy, village-like charm that's so hard to find these days, and everything's kept nice and tidy, which makes it perfect for a casual drink or even hosting a birthday bash in their private room. The drinks won't break the bank either, and they throw in some light snacks to keep things going. On the flip side, it's a shame about the games setup; the pool table's not quite right, with balls rolling off in odd directions because it's not level, and the dart boards are crammed too close, which could spoil a competitive evening. All in all, though, it's a place I'd happily recommend for a laugh with friends – just maybe skip the games if you're after a flawless night.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • They've got a brilliant lineup of live music and events, like great bands and quizzes, that really bring the place to life and create a buzzing atmosphere.
  • Drinks are reasonably priced, and they offer light snacks, which is perfect for a casual night out without spending a fortune.
  • The venue has a lovely, cosy village feel and is kept spotlessly clean, making it a great spot for celebrations or just relaxing with mates.
  • It's well-suited for private functions, with a dedicated room that's ideal for birthdays or get-togethers.
Cons
  • The pool table's been squeezed into a tight spot and isn't level, so the balls end up rolling all over, which can put a damper on a game.
  • The dart boards are too close together, making it a bit awkward and less fun for anyone trying to have a proper throw.

Thank you to the staff, especially Katy and Lucy for making me feel very welcome for the two nights I was in the area. The live music tonight was very professional and enjoyable - and the beer very good. Loved the “village feel” - almost as good as my favourite Greek Tavernas. I shall return! Thank you 🇬🇷

Yesterday I celebrated my friends 30th Birthday in their private function room. Every one was super friendly and accommodating. They provide light snacks and the drinks are reasonably priced. The venue is very clean the locals seemed to have enjoyed a nice Karaoke evening. So if you into Karaoke this is the place to be. The bathrooms were nice and clean and the decor of the function room is was also nice. The lady and the guys working on their bar were nice and friendly and approachable. There also had the footy on in the background 💙

The pool table has been squashed into a new space where it doesn't fit. It's also not level and the balls roll backwards. Dart boards moved also, now they are too close together. Nice pub, but more thought required.
