About This Pub

Ah, The Flowerpot, what a little gem tucked away in Walthamstow – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a second home, you know? From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with that warm, traditional East End charm, where the staff are dead chatty and make you feel welcome straight away. The food's a real highlight; I've heard so many folks going on about the Sunday roasts and those special burgers – they're spot on, with generous portions and flavours that hit the mark every time. Pair that with a solid range of beers at prices that won't break the bank, and you've got yourself a perfect spot for watching the game or enjoying some live tunes in the beer garden. It's also brilliant that it's dog-friendly and welcomes families, so it's versatile for different occasions. On the flip side, I have to mention that the operating hours can seem a bit dodgy at times, like it might not always be open when you fancy a pint, so it's best to check ahead. And while it's got that authentic pub feel, it might not wow you with cutting-edge features if that's what you're after. All in all, it's a solid choice for a good night out – honest, unpretentious, and full of character, just like a great pub should be.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on – think mouthwatering Sunday roasts, tasty burgers, and those chips with a special dust that everyone's raving about; it's proper comfort grub that'll have you coming back for more.
  • They've got a cracking selection of beers at decent prices, perfect for settling in with mates for a good chat or catching some live music or sports on the telly.
  • The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with friendly staff like Simon who make you feel right at home, plus it's dog-friendly and family-oriented, so it's great for all sorts.
  • It's a traditional East End spot with fun extras like a pool table, beer garden, and live entertainment, making it a lively place without being too overwhelming.
Cons
  • The operating status seems a bit unclear from what I've seen, which might mean it's not always open when you'd expect, so it's worth double-checking before heading out.
  • As a classic pub, it might not have the fanciest modern touches, so if you're after something super sleek or innovative, it could feel a tad old-school.

Great selection of German hotdogs served with proper currywurst and fried onions. The chips with magic dust were awesome - food was quick, reasonable and super tasty - all prep’d, cooked and served by Super Simon. All washed down well with a strong selection of beers at decent prices. We’re going back soon for Sunday lunch.

Great atmosphere in a traditional London boozer - great selection on tap and a particularly great gin selection if you’re into that. Landlady was lovely, as were the hotdogs - which, at a fiver a go, was the perfect little snack to see you through a good session
