About This Pub

Ah, let me tell you about The Firefly Beer Haus – it's one of those places in Worcester that really hits the spot if you're after a proper pint and a good chat with mates. They've nailed the beer game with an impressive lineup, from fresh craft brews and well-kept cask ales to German and Belgian favourites, and it's clear from the chatter that it's a go-to for anyone who appreciates a quality drink. The food side is equally spot-on, with Smokin Brad’s burgers stealing the show; they're smoked to perfection and made with local ingredients, making them a must-try when the kitchen's open. The vibe is just lovely too, with regular events like open mic nights and live music that keep things lively without being overwhelming, and there's outdoor seating for when the weather plays ball. On the downside, I've heard a few tales of service not quite living up to the rest, like one instance where it put a damper on an otherwise promising visit, so it might pay to keep that in mind. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening, and with such high praise from most who've been, I'd say it's worth checking out for the beers and atmosphere alone, just go in with realistic expectations.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The beer selection is absolutely brilliant – they've got a cracking range of craft beers, cask ales, Czech lagers, and Belgian classics that any beer enthusiast would love.
  • The food's a real highlight, especially those Smokin Brad’s burgers; they're made with top-quality, smoked meat and homemade sauces, and folks rave about them as some of the best in Worcester.
  • The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with live music, open mic nights, and monthly comedy events that make it a lively spot for a night out.
  • Plenty of seating options, including outdoor areas, and the staff are generally friendly and helpful, sharing their knowledge about the drinks.
Cons
  • Service can be inconsistent at times, as one experience mentioned a bit of a mishap with a bar staff member that left a sour taste.
  • The kitchen's only open a few days a week, so if you're popping in on a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, you might miss out on those tasty burgers and have to stick to drinks.

A great British Pub! The buzz & atmosphere was one of a true local place to hangout. The decor is very cool. We only had a few things to nibble on which were delish, we’ll be back for a proper burger & meal! Hubby tells me the beer & drink selection is impressive Lots of seating options. Outdoor seating was lovely on this sunny day. Indoor main bar or comfy cozy plush booths in a mezzanine area. Met Matt the owner too, great guy, great publican. Bonus the main guy at the bar was an Aussie! Highly recommend!

Never had food here but have stopped in for drinks quite a few times. They have a wide range of drinks with lots of new things to try. Staff are knowledgeable on the selection. They are very friendly and willing to help. The bar tables are all lit by candles and the outside seating is lovely. We have also been for the comedy night before which was great. Would definitely recommend this place.

18 December 2024: 12.05pm. A comedy of errors and poor customer service from the Australian barmaid. Avoid. 1) As a beer lover, I came here specifically to try Murphy's on draught as it's very rare to find this in England. I spoke about how I am excited to try the beer because my Irish friends said its superior to Guinness. I even show a picture of my friend's beer poured in Cork, Ireland with a nice, foamy head in anticipation! Instead, I am served a pint with barely 2mm of head (see picture), and pointed out whether this was meant to look like that, given the remarkable difference in head size. The Australian replied, 'this is how we're taught to pour'. I managed to bite my lip and let me a drawn out 'hmm' - unconvinced that any proprietor of a highly rated craft beer bar would ever serve a stout like the one attached. To sum up, an extremely disappointing customer experience due to the Australian barmaid's dismissive attitude. 2) Complete shift in quality of customer service to a middle-aged couple, in the presence of what I infer to be a manager/owner/senior (who donned a tote bag, a beanie with dangling poms poms and a salt and pepper eard). When the barmaid was serving the couple in his presence, nothing was too much. 'Take as much time as you need'. 'If you would like to try some, I can do that'. I craned my neck in disbelief at the complete change of demeanour and quality of customer service provided. It was as if two different people was serving, when in fact it was just one! Unfortunately, this shows that she IS capable of providing good customer service, but for whatever reason, decided that I was not worthy of the same. I certainly do not recommend anyone to visit this bar and I won't be returning.

Been meaning to eat here for ages. It was fantastic. Thursday nights, it’s £3 pints £8 burgers. Both are incredible. Well kept beer and the burger was superb. Lovely staff and vibe too.
