About This Pub
Ah, The Ffrwd – what a gem it is for anyone craving a proper pub experience with some seriously tasty grub. From the rave reviews, it's clear the food steals the show; imagine tucking into a massive Sunday roast or a fish pie that's packed with flavour and leaves you stuffed for your money. The staff are just lovely, always up for a chat and making sure everything runs smoothly, which really adds to the warm, inviting vibe. Prices are fair too, so you won't feel short-changed. On the flip side, though, the place has its rough edges – the layout isn't quite spot on, and you might end up waiting a bit for your meal, which can be a drag if you're peckish. Plus, being out in the sticks means dodgy phone signal and a car park that's easy to overlook, so it's best to plan ahead if you're driving or relying on a lift. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed night out, especially if you're after good company and a full belly, but do keep those little niggles in mind for a smoother visit.

I’m not one for leaving for leaving reviews but our Sunday roast is more than deserving of one. We had the rib of roast beef and it was the best roast we have ever eaten. It tasted like a home cooked roast. We had more than enough beef which we almost struggled to finish. The veg was cooked perfect and it was out on our table pretty quickly. Nice selection of drinks and very friendly staff. Price was surprisingly reasonable, we’ve paid alot more for a lot less quality. We will be back. Best roast in Wales.
We found this pub while visiting relatives near Wrexham. We have eaten here 4 times over the course of 10 days. The pub is relaxed and the staff very friendly. There is an amazing choice but, if you are eating here you MUST have a fish dish. I have had monkfish and king prawn scampi, the best fish pie in the world, monk fish and thai king prawn, and tonight (wednesday curry night) an excellent sea bass and king prawn Thai curry, we are considering moving to the area so we can come more often!! I can only say the portions are very generous (you might struggle with two courses) and the amount of fish in the dishes is more than anywhere I have eaten before. Monday and Tuesday are 2 for 1 which is amazing considering the quality of the food. I would recommend the Ffrwd to anyone, my partner said the Steak and Ale pie was really good and my friend really enjoyed her gammon but really have the fish, generous portions and beautifully cooked by a chef who loves cooking fish (he told me so) oh and the homemade baked cheese cakes are to die for. Give yourselves a treat and book a table at The Ffrwd and enjoy.
Amazing food, friendly staff, pub with character and reasonable prices. Winner winner. We definitely will be coming back.
Very good pub food! Specials available. Curry night is 👌🏻
If you're drinking, you need to arrange a taxi in advance as its quite remote and mobile service signal is poor there.

Cosy country pub that’s known for its food. The menu is extensive and looked mouth watering.. but not as much as the actual food itself did! 🤤 I only popped in for a half on my travels. I had half a stout. Not had it before and can’t remember the name of it but it was nice (not Guinness of Murphys.) All tables booked for food (says it all) so I stood at bar. They do offers early in week for food. Decent selection of drinks. Recommended for food and booking is highly advisable.
