About This Pub
You know, when I popped into The Feathers, it really hit the spot as a classic British pub that's full of character and heart. The historic building and that beautiful beer garden are just perfect for soaking up the sun with a cold pint or enjoying a leisurely lunch with friends – it's got this aspirational feel that makes you want to linger. The staff are an absolute delight, always helpful and accommodating, like how they made Antonio and his group feel so at home. And the food? Well, it's spot on with fresh, locally sourced ingredients; I keep hearing great things about the fish and chips and those tasty starters like Panko squid. They've got events and celebrations sorted too, so it's brilliant for a get-together. On the downside, it can get a bit heaving on busy days, which might spoil the mood if you're after a quiet corner, and not every dish wows everyone – some reviews mentioned a few letdowns with the meals. Plus, the decor's a tad average, and if you're with a furry friend, you'll have to stick to certain areas. All in all, with its solid 4.5 rating, it's a gem worth checking out, but go with realistic expectations for a balanced pub experience.

Cons
-
It can get pretty crowded, especially on sunny days, which might make it tricky to find a seat or enjoy a quiet chat.

There are restrictions on where dogs can go, like only in the bar area or outside, which could be a letdown for pet lovers.

Visited The Feathers for the first time a couple of days ago. I've been hearing amazing things about this place from friends and family members for years but had not managed to visit. It is an absolutely stunning historic pub in the centre of Rickmansworth. There is a lovely beer garden to the rear which was perfect for soaking up the sun. We came in for a few drinks and a snack. I ate the Chicken Liver and Cognac Pate (£7.90) which was absolutely delicious and perfect with a cold drink on a Summer's day. I hope to be back to visit again very soon!
Amazing experience!
We were overwhelmed by the care and attention we received from the staff.
Victoria and her team made us feel very welcomed.
Matilda and Sophie were very helpful and accommodating.
Everyone was exceptional but Dan, our server, went the extra mile to ensure we were well looked after and he made it look gracious and effortless.
Will definitely return and recommend this lovely establishment with an even more lovely team.
Would highly recommend the fish and chips - the doombar batter on the fish was exceptional.
The staff are all very friendly and accommodating.
Heard so much about the place so booked to visit. Those with dogs they are allowed only in bar area or outside. Average decor. Pretty crowded might be the sunshine. The lady who served us was amazing and we added tip hence.
Panko squid starter was one to try and pie was told was good.
Rest all dishes were extremely average.
Amazing pub! The staff are absolutely lovely and really friendly and helpful.
The food and portions are also great and the pub is really nice, the outside seating area is really cute and nicely decorated.
The desserts are really nice and the presentation of everything is lovely.
I'm not usually a fan of brownies, but I thought I'd give the sundae brownie a try, and it was possibly the best brownie I've ever had! The cauliflower bites are really tasty, too, and I'd recommend getting them as a starter.
We didn't get a chance to try the roast but would definitely return again as it sounded lovely!
