About This Pub
Ah, The Fat Badger – it's one of those pubs that just hits the spot for a relaxed pint without all the fuss. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this great lineup of beers, like a decent Guinness or John Smith's at fair prices, and even some real ales that beer enthusiasts would appreciate. The staff sound like absolute gems, always ready with a smile and a warm welcome, which really makes the place feel inviting. Plus, it's spot on if you're with your dog or just want to catch up with mates over a game of pool or the footy on TV – and that open fire adds a nice touch on a chilly day. On the flip side, it's not without its quirks; the decor's a bit on the plain side, almost like it's trying to be traditional but ends up feeling a tad bare and underwhelming. Some have mentioned it's just one big room, which might not give that cosy, tucked-away vibe you're after in a classic pub. Still, with its convenient spot near the train station, it's a reliable choice for a straightforward night out. Overall, I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in Bridlington – it's got that easy-going charm, even if it doesn't knock your socks off.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
They've got a cracking selection of beers, including real ales like Theakstons – perfect for a proper pint session.
-
The staff are dead friendly and welcoming, always up for a chat which makes you feel right at home.
-
It's dog-friendly, so you can pop in with your furry mate without any fuss.
-
Handy location near the train station, ideal if you're nipping in for a quick one after arriving.
-
There's a pool table, TVs for catching the match, and even an open fire for those cosy evenings.
Cons
-
The decor feels a bit plain and not quite as traditional as you'd hope – it's a tad light and insipid for some tastes.
-
It's just one large room with wooden floors, which can come across as a bit stripped back and lacking that snug, homely feel.
-
Some folks might not realise they serve food, as it's not always obvious, so you could miss out on that option.

Proper pub, pretty decent Guinness and a fair price.
Did not have anything to eat so can't comment didn't know they sold food good to see open fire
Good pint of john Smiths and dogs allowed plus close to train station perfect for me.
The fat Badger is a traditional pub, a bit stripped bare with one large room and wooden floors. There is a good selection of beers lager and cider, including a cask conditioned hand pulled real Ale Theakstons when i visited. The staff are very friendly and welcoming there is a pool table and TVs for watching Sport. There's an outside smoking area behind the pub.
Decor a bit light and insipid for me, didn't feel like a traditional pub. Good beer though, there was Theakstons Old Peculier and Bradfield Farmer's Blonde, I had the latter. Pool table. Sports televisions. Karaoke. Has tables outside to the front on the pavement. Prompt, friendly service. Not really my sort of pub, but will be a lot of folks' cup o tea.
