About This Pub
Ah, Boat House Cafe – it's one of those places that just feels like a warm hug on a chilly day, especially if you're popping in for a classic breakfast. I have to say, the food here is spot on; everything's cooked fresh to order, so you get it piping hot and full of flavour, which is a real treat when you're tucking into something like their English breakfast. The prices are spot on too – that £6 deal with tea included is an absolute bargain and leaves you feeling chuffed without emptying your pockets. The staff are an absolute delight, always friendly and making sure you're looked after, which really makes the place stand out. On the flip side, the decor's a tad outdated, giving it that old-school feel that some folks love, but others might find a bit tired. And if you're a coffee enthusiast, the instant stuff might not hit the mark – it's functional, but nothing to write home about. Plus, it's cash only, so do plan ahead, and bear in mind that waiting for your food means they prioritise quality over speed. All in all, it's a gem for a relaxed, no-fuss meal, and I'd recommend giving it a go if you're after an authentic British cafe experience with more highs than lows.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The breakfast is absolutely delicious and always served piping hot, which makes for a proper satisfying meal.
-
It's incredibly good value – like that special breakfast with a cup of tea for just £6, which is hard to beat in Bridlington.
-
The staff are lovely and welcoming, adding a real homely touch to your visit.
-
It has a charming, traditional retro atmosphere that feels like a step back in time, which is quite endearing if you appreciate that sort of thing.
Cons
-
The decor is a bit dated and could do with a spruce up, though it does add to the old-school charm for some.
-
They only serve instant coffee, which might disappoint if you're after something a bit more fancy.
-
It's cash only, so you'll need to remember to bring some notes and coins with you.
-
Food takes a little while to arrive since it's all cooked fresh, which isn't ideal if you're in a hurry.

We came for breakfast on January 2nd. Absolutely delicious and for us, very important that it was hot! Couldn't fault it. Well presented, lots of choice and a lovely lady taking the order.
Worth trying for definite 👍👍👍
Really Really nice breakfast and looks like the other food is just as good a special breakfast including a cuppa tea £6 nothing else beats that in bridlington
A nice little gem of a traditional cafe. Retro, padded bench seats set in the traditional style make this a step back in time from when cafés were cafés.
The food is cooked fresh and may take a little time to arrive, and NOT left on a hot plate for 4 hours to dry up.
The English breakfast is top quality and cooked to perfection. I couldn't fault it at all.
A definite revisit is on the cards for me
I am a keen breakfast eater and on my trip to Bridlington I asked a local where the best local cafe was for a breakfast and the boathouse was recommended. They do not take card payments. Inside is very old fashioned. And you have to wait 5 mins etc because your food is cooked from fresh. Absolutely definitely recommend this place. Lovely lady served me and made the perfect mug of tea.
Extremely good price taking into account your tea is included.
Fantastic quality breakfast. Decor a bit dated but it is what it is. Only one problem. Instant coffee. If you don't care then it's a five star breakfast
