About This Pub
Ah, The Farmer's Boy – it's such a lovely little pub that really hits the spot for a casual get-together. From what I've gathered from folks who've been, the food is spot on; we're talking proper traditional pub grub with fresh local ingredients, and they've made an effort to include gluten-free choices and a separate menu for the little ones, which is brilliant if you're out with family. The garden's a standout, with those gorgeous countryside views and a play area that keeps the kids entertained while you sip on one of their well-kept ales – it's got Fuller's on tap and a great selection of bottled beers that beer enthusiasts rave about. Plus, it's super dog-friendly, so you can pop in with your pooch and not worry about a thing. The staff are dead friendly too, creating that warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to linger. On the flip side, it can get a bit sluggish with service when it's heaving, and a few have mentioned that the prices don't always feel quite right for the portions – like wishing for a bit more on the plate without upping the cost. All things considered, it's a solid choice for a relaxed day out, especially if you're after somewhere that's family-oriented and has that authentic pub feel, but it's worth keeping an eye on the timing if you're in a rush.

Cons
-

Absolutely lovely pub! Amazing food, service and atmosphere! There were loads of board and card games available for families to play including children's games. There was a great park outside for kids to play. Customers and staff were all so welcoming!
Went to eat at The Farmers Boy last weekend. Food was absolutely delicious. Price was ok but in my opinion for large size should have had cauliflower cheese and sausages within the Price. Service was a bit slow but I guess the taste made up for it. Restaurant has a Fantastic look front and back.
Stumbled across this pub by accident really as I was on the way to somewhere else and fancied a drink. Really impressed, especially with the food! Everything tastes so good and the atmosphere is always so nice there!
A great little family run pub. We ordered the Sunday roast which has a great selection of meats or you can order from the main menu. Everything is reasonably priced. The pub caters for children as well. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The pub's facilities were very clean and tidy. There is a small playground in the garden so the kids can have a good run around after their meal. Locals, visitors and dogs welcome.
Came here yesterday for a nice roast for my birthday and I wasn’t disappointed. We didn’t book and there was one table left for us, it was meant to be!
The front of house team were so friendly and just gave off lovely welcoming, happy vibes.
Turkey roast was perfect, couldn’t fault it one bit. We are not local but if we were passing by we will be back in again. And board game night sounds like so much fun!
