About This Pub
Ah, The Falcon Inn – it's one of those hidden gems in Nottingham that just feels like a proper old-school pub, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews and the website, it's got this warm, refurbished Victorian charm that's perfect for sinking into a comfy corner with a pint of their excellent real ales or a cheeky cocktail. The food really stands out; folks rave about the Sunday roasts and other dishes like the smoked mackerel pâté or that gingerbread cake, all served up by a chef who's happy to tailor menus for groups or events. Prices are spot on for what's on offer, making it a great spot for a casual meal or a lively gathering without spending a fortune. On the flip side, it's a smaller venue, so if you're with a big crowd, you might end up jostling for space or waiting for a seat, and with it only open five days a week and those varying hours, it's not always the easiest to pop in spontaneously. Still, the high ratings and positive vibes from regulars suggest it's worth seeking out for a solid, honest pub experience – I'd say give it a go if you're after good beer, hearty grub, and that genuine community feel.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The beer selection is absolutely spot on, with a great range of real ales from local and regional breweries, plus tasty ciders and even some cracking cocktails to mix things up.
-
The food is a real highlight, especially those Sunday lunches – think hearty roasts and fresh options that hit the spot, all at very reasonable prices.
-
It's got that cosy, traditional Victorian vibe that's perfect for a relaxed catch-up with mates, and the staff are always friendly and quick to lend a hand.
-
Being inexpensive makes it a brilliant choice for a night out without breaking the bank, and they've got spaces for events like private dinners or parties.
Cons
-
It's a bit on the small side, so it can get cosy to the point of feeling a tad cramped if a larger group turns up.
-
The opening hours are a mixed bag, with only five days a week and varying times, which might not suit everyone looking for a spontaneous visit.
-
There haven't been many recent reviews, so it might not be buzzing as much as some other spots, though the overall ratings are still strong.

10 / 10 for food and beer. Sunday lunch was fantastic. Called late and they fitted me in.
Brilliant traditional pub. Great beers and food. We popped in late on a Sunday afternoon, but we got in and had a lovely Lamb Shank and a proper Pork chop. The Titanic Porter is delicious. Highly recommend.
Lovely traditional pub. Well kept beers at reasonable prices. It's a small pub but they do bring out tables and chairs outside. Nice attentive staff. There was a large group of us and some were left standing. The barman came out with additional chairs.

Great beer selection at proper prices and the finest tasting draught Plum Porter in the world. Traditional olde world pub. Nice and quiet. Great food.
Classic pub in Canning Circus - small and cozy with a well stocked bar and nice selection of beers. Burgers served on Saturday, but I came for the Sunday Roast and a pint of real ale - both were great. Staff is friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was superb.
