About This Pub
Ah, The Elihu Yale – it's one of those classic Wetherspoon spots that you can always rely on for a good time without breaking the bank. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this lovely selection of real ales and craft beers that really stand out; I mean, who doesn't love the chance to sample before you commit? The staff come across as genuinely approachable and efficient, always on top of keeping the place tidy and serving up grub quickly, which makes for a comfortable visit. Their food menu is a winner too – think hearty breakfasts and Sunday roasts that leave you satisfied, all at prices that make you wonder how they do it. The atmosphere feels just right for a casual get-together, with that familiar pub charm that draws you in. But, to be fair, it's not all smooth sailing; a few folks have noted that the food can arrive a tad cool, and even on quieter days, sorting out issues might take a moment longer than you'd like. Still, with an overall rating hovering around 4.1, it's clear this place gets more right than wrong, and I'd say it's worth popping in for a pint and a chat – just keep expectations realistic for the occasional hiccup.

Cons
-
Sometimes the food doesn't come out piping hot, like that cold breakfast one person mentioned, which can put a bit of a dampener on things.

Even when it's not too busy, service might drag a little, leaving you waiting longer than you'd hope for fixes or refills.

Very nice afternoon spent here enjoying good quality real ale and also craftbeer.
I opted for the non carne chilli con carni potato with the unbelievably good Mad Squirrel craftbeer.
No problem to try before I bought and a good atmosphere throughout.
Unfortunately, there's only this Spoons available in Wrexham now.
Definitely one of the better run Wetherspoons pubs with friendly attentive staff who are quick to clean & clear tables and serve up food and drinks. Toilets and very clean.
Friendly staff & locals enjoyed our visit .has a nice entrance to it .
Had a breakfast here Saturday morning and just had Sunday lunch… could not fault any of our meals.. as a family of 3 both times we had exceptional meals. Service was quick, didn’t wait to be served at the bar, used the app too.. friendly staff..great food, great atmosphere. The food for our Sunday meal on the 30th march at around 12-1 was exceptional.. piping hot and our steak was the perfect medium rare. Thank you! You out did yourselves!
Popped in for breakfast, came out quick enough but was cold. Told the staff who told me I'd have to wait for replacement as they were busy. Now the pub is at 10% occupancy of a normal Sunday morning so no idea what is keeping them soooo busy.
