About This Pub
Oh, Hill Street Social in Wrexham is one of those hidden gems that really warms you up on a chilly evening – imagine popping in for a quick drink and ending up staying for hours, chatting away with the super friendly staff and getting caught up in the lively atmosphere. It's brilliant for sports fans, with loads of screens showing live matches, especially the local Wrexham ones, and they've got great options for beers that won't break the bank. The added bonus of activities like darts or a quiz makes it feel like a proper community spot where you can have a laugh with friends. On the flip side, it's a shame they don't serve food on the premises, so you're left sorting out deliveries, and the lack of clear opening times or an active online presence might leave you wondering if it's all running smoothly. Still, from what I've gathered, it's a solid choice for a casual night out, as long as you go in with realistic expectations and maybe plan ahead a bit.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely brilliant – super friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
It's got a cracking atmosphere, especially for watching live sports like Wrexham matches, with plenty of screens and a real buzz in the air.
-
Drinks are reasonably priced, with a good selection including pints of Cruzcampo, Madri, Guinness, and local lagers that hit the spot.
-
There are fun activities on offer, like darts and quizzes, which make for a great evening out with mates.
-
You can order food in from nearby places, which adds a nice touch even if it's not served on-site.
Cons
-
The place seems to have some issues with its online status – it's not claimed by the owners, which might mean it's not as responsive to feedback or updates.
-
No food is served directly here, so you'll have to arrange takeaways, which isn't ideal if you're after a full meal out.
-
Operating hours aren't clearly listed, which could make planning a visit a bit tricky.
-
With the business status showing as closed, there might be some uncertainty about whether it's reliably open, even though recent visits sound positive.

Friendly and welcoming sports bar in the town centre. Great atmosphere for the football, especially Wrexham matches.
Highly recommended
Brilliant sport bar, super friendly staff and a great atmosphere, we had a great game of darts and enjoyed some nice beer. Food can be ordered in from the fat boar.
Remains an outstanding little sports bar, great pint of Cruzcampo, Madri, Guinness & Wxm lagers.
Great atmosphere, all live sports. A real asset to Wrexham imho.
Excellent staff, led by the infamous Jenno 😆 darts & plenty of screens... pool table upstairs reserved for a team, so ask in advance if you'd like a game.
A must for foreign WAFC fans.
Monday night food sometimes available from Fat Boar. Thursday quiz.
We only popped in for a quick drink on our way to the station for the train back to Chirk. Two and half hours later we had come last in the quiz but had a great evening. A lovely warm welcome, fab hospitality, reasonable drinks prices. Thanks guys Dawn & Jim (The Travelling Hillbillies)
Very nice experience here in the way into town one evening to do some business recently. Nice lager to quench my thirst after all the important high level (and highly confidential) discussions. Nice place to relax.
