About This Pub

Ah, The Eccles Cross, it's one of those Wetherspoon spots that you pop into for a cheeky pint or a hearty meal without breaking the bank, and honestly, it's got some real charms that'll make you smile. The prices are dead reasonable, and they've a wide array of food options that are generally tasty and filling, which is just what you want after a long day. I love how it's often nice and quiet, not like those rowdy places where you can barely hear yourself think, and the staff are lovely when they're in a good mood, getting your order out quick as you like. But, let's be straight, it's not all roses – some of the team can be a bit offhand or ignore you at the bar, and cleanliness is something they could sort out, with tales of grubby glasses and messy areas that might make you think twice. The food can be hit or miss too, sometimes it's spot on, other times it's a bit of a letdown with overcooked bits or underdone dishes. All in all, if you're after a no-fuss spot for a casual get-together, it's worth a go, but maybe keep your expectations in check and have a backup plan for if things aren't quite right.

This is my local and I find it dirty, and most of the female staff apart from one lovely lady, Esbeth, ignore me at the bar over the male customers. The kitchen area is always cluttered with tables full of dirty glasses, and the food is appalling, twice I sent a pizza back, undercooked, and still it wasn't cooked on the 3rd return!

Love this spoons. I risked it and came on a Saturday night. I was pleasantly surprised how peaceful it was. I like that it’s not hectic and loud compared to other ones. Food comes out fast and hot. Staff are nice and friendly.
