About This Pub

Ah, The Duke of York in Bromsgrove – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? From the reviews, it sounds like Theo and the team have really nailed the welcoming vibe, with folks raving about the friendly chats and that community spirit that makes you want to pop in for a chat and a drink. Whether it's belting out tunes at karaoke or enjoying a game of pool in the newly done-up space, it's clear this place does a smashing job at creating a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere without any pretence. The drinks are fairly priced too, so you won't feel like you're splashing out just for a night out. On the flip side, though, it's a bit quiet on the review front lately – no new ones in the past half-year, which might mean it's not as buzzing as it could be, or perhaps it's just flying under the radar. And without a website, it's not the easiest to check out menus or events beforehand. All in all, if you're after a straightforward, down-to-earth pub experience in the area, I'd say give it a go; it's got that solid 4.4 rating backing it up, and who knows, you might just find your new favourite spot for a midweek catch-up.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant and make you feel right at home, with a special shout-out to Theo for being such a welcoming host.
  • It's got a fantastic community vibe, perfect for a relaxed night out with mates, whether you're into karaoke or just chatting over drinks.
  • The pub has been newly refurbished, giving it a fresh and inviting feel, and the drinks are reasonably priced for a good night without breaking the bank.
  • It's open every day from midday till 11 PM, making it a reliable spot for a casual get-together any time of the week.
Cons
  • There haven't been any reviews in the last six months, which might mean things have quietened down a bit lately.
  • No website listed, so it's a tad tricky to get more details online before heading over.
  • One reviewer mentioned it wasn't busy on a Saturday night, which could make it feel a bit low-key if you're after a lively crowd.
