About This Pub

Oh, the Red Lion – it's one of those pubs that just hits the spot, you know? From chatting with folks who've been there, it's clear the staff are absolute stars, always greeting you with a smile and making sure everyone's looked after. The atmosphere is spot on for catching up with friends, cheering on the footie, or just unwinding with a drink in hand. Prices are fair, so it's easy on the pocket, and that outdoor area is a nice touch for when you fancy a bit of fresh air. They've got all sorts of events lined up too, like live music and quizzes, which really add to the fun. On the flip side, though, their website's a bit of a letdown – I tried having a look and it wasn't playing ball, which might make planning a night out a smidge frustrating. And the opening times seem a bit muddled from what I've seen, so it's worth double-checking before you head over. All in all, it's a solid choice for a good time, with more highs than lows, but I'd say it's best for those after a classic pub experience rather than anything fancy.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • A proper traditional pub vibe with decent prices, so you can enjoy a pint without worrying about the wallet
  • They've got a spacious outdoor seating area with cover, ideal for a sunny day or even a bit of shelter when the weather turns
  • Loads of fun events like live bands, DJ sets, and quiz nights keep things lively and give you plenty to look forward to
Cons
  • The website seems a bit unreliable and hard to access, which might make it tricky to check out menus or events in advance

We love having a few beers here. It's a fantastic vibe. The bar staff are incredibly welcoming very nice people. They have a to big seating area outside too with cover. Definitely definitely deserves a visit if you've not been before.

Love this pub. The staff are so friendly, welcoming, accommodating and highly trained! It's a place where I feel safe and every single time I walk in it feels so homely, the atmosphere is electric. Throughout the year there is always so much to look forward to, live bands, dj sets, quiz night and poker night. Will always choose this pub over any in the area. Fantastic and can't fault.
