Food is really amazing. However there was a confusing on the order and couldn’t get my order for a bit long time so my beer got warm and my chips got cold. Besides they did not ask for any allergy or anything. Atmosphere was nice. Overall I did not have a quite good experience as service but food and atmosphere are great.

Really recommend this pub where we had lunch after a walk on the Heath. We sat in the garden which was sheltered and had the welcome addition of patio heaters. I had the skate wing and haven’t enjoyed a pub meal as much for a long time. Two of our party had roasts and the other fish and chips. All were very complimentary of the food. Puddings were of an equally high standard - my strudel was just divine. The overall cost was more than we are used to paying in Hampshire but the quality made it well worth it. Will definitely come again!

This led to longer wait times for drinks and a somewhat slower pace of service, which could be improved with additional staff during peak hours. The poor bloke legged it downstairs to change the keg! As for the food, the fish and chips came highly recommended on Instagram, but I found them to be slightly overrated. While the dish was certainly enjoyable, it didn't quite live up to the social media hype. The fish was well-cooked and the batter crispy, but there was nothing particularly exceptional about it that set it apart from other pub offerings in the area. For £19 it might be worth trying something else on the menu. Despite these minor drawbacks, The Duke of Hamilton remains a lovely spot for a casual drink or meal. Its warm, inviting atmosphere and charming beer garden make it worth a visit, especially if you're in the mood for a relaxed and friendly pub experience. With a bit of adjustment to their staffing on busy days, this pub has the potential to elevate the overall experience for its patrons.

Yesterday I visited The Duke of Hamilton for a meal and entertainment, and I must say, the experience was delightful overall. The food, although well presented, fell a bit short in terms of seasoning. We tried the schnitzel and baked feta salad, both of which were just okay. However, the atmosphere of the place more than made up for it. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, making us feel right at home. The cozy ambiance added to the charm of the evening. To top it off, I enjoyed a glass of natural Italian wine that was a true delight. The cherry on the cake was the live jazz gig, which provided the perfect soundtrack to our evening. Overall, I would rate my experience a solid 9 out of 10. While the food could use a bit more flavor, everything else about The Duke of Hamilton made it a memorable evening. Highly recommended for a relaxed night out with good music and great company.
