About This Pub

Ah, The Drunken Duck – it's one of those classic pubs that just feels like a proper local haunt in Walsall, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews and a quick look at their site, it's got this warm, friendly vibe that's spot on for kicking back with friends over a pint. The staff come across as genuinely welcoming, and it's brilliant for catching live sports with a cold lager in hand, especially with options like TNT and Sky Sports on offer. Prices are spot on too – inexpensive and cheerful, which means you won't break the bank. That beer garden is a real gem for when the weather's nice, and little perks like being pet-friendly or enjoying a curry deal make it even more appealing. On the flip side, though, food isn't always on the menu, so if you're after a full meal, you might be out of luck some days, and the ale choices could do with a bit more variety. Overall, it's a solid choice for a laid-back evening; I'd say give it a go if you're in the area – you'll likely leave with a smile, but just keep expectations realistic for the grub side of things.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming and friendly, making it a top spot for a relaxed catch-up with mates.
  • They've got a fantastic selection of drinks at really affordable prices, including a good variety of ciders and lagers.
  • The large beer garden is perfect for enjoying a pint outdoors, especially on a sunny day, and it's great for watching live sports like the footy.
  • Occasional treats like curries and live bands add a fun twist, and it's pet-friendly too, which is always a bonus.
Cons
  • The food options can be hit or miss; sometimes it's not available, so you might need to plan ahead or just stick to drinks.
  • The ale selection isn't the most extensive, as one visit might leave you wanting more variety in that department.
  • It feels a bit old-school and traditional, which is charming but might not appeal if you're after something more modern or lively.

I found this pub to be the friendliest out of the four in the area. Very welcoming, especially to pets. I had a bottle of Black Sheep ale, there wasn't too many ales when I was there. Nice interior and a large beer garden. would like to return and try one of the curries

Good pub it's a bit more of an old school pub, been going in while the euros was on and after work with a couple of mates, cheap beer, friendly staff, good variety of ciders and larger on the pulls and in bottles

Popped in for food but wasn't doing food that day, but the landlord happily suggests that he can rustle me something up , 30 minutes later I was sat eating a delicious mutton curry with delicious chips . Very friendly

Only been a couple of times. Good for live bands. Curry and a pint £6. Amused by the help yourself once given your dish and spoon. Recommended it to friends. Bike nights too. Not advertised as well known amongst the biker community.
