About This Pub

Ah, the Four Crosses – it's one of those neighbourhood pubs that you hear about and think, 'That sounds like a proper spot for a pint.' With a solid 4.2 rating from folks who've been there, it's clear that it does a few things right, like offering a welcoming atmosphere where you can kick back with friends over some top-notch real ales that rotate regularly. The service is spot on too – quick and cheerful, which always makes a night out that bit better. Back in the day, it was buzzing with entertainment and delicious grub like Greek or Indian meals that had people raving. But honestly, it's not all sunshine; there are tales of it losing its way a tad, with the owner apparently pulling out the TVs and oven, which has knocked the energy down a notch. Some have mentioned certain crowds making it less enjoyable, and the food scene seems to have vanished, leaving you with just the drinks to rely on. Still, if you're local or passing through Walsall, it's worth popping in for those ales – just go in with an open mind and keep it light-hearted.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is lovely and friendly, making it a great spot for a relaxed chat and a pint with mates.
  • They've got a cracking selection of real ales that change regularly, so there's always something new to try.
  • Service is quick and the staff are welcoming, which really adds to the overall experience.
Cons
  • It seems like things have gone a bit downhill lately, with rumours that the TVs and oven have been removed, affecting the vibe and food options.
  • Some feedback mentions dodgy clientele that can spoil the fun, making it feel less inviting than it used to.
  • The food, which used to be a highlight with tasty Greek or Indian dishes, might not be available anymore, which is a real shame.

The Four Cross has a regular turn around of at least 3 different real ales every week as well as a host of regular bar and lager offerings. I have always found a great pint and friendly atmosphere. Sadly 4 years later this pub is not a place i find worth visiting anymore due to some clientele and lack of real ale
