About This Pub
Ah, The Dressers Arms – it's one of those places that just feels like a proper British pub, dating back to the 1700s and nestled in lovely countryside, making it ideal for a relaxed catch-up with mates. I have to say, the food really stands out; their home-cooked meals are hearty and full of flavour, with generous portions and some brilliant vegetarian choices that left me pleasantly surprised. The staff are dead welcoming too, always up for a chat and committed to that old-school hospitality that makes you want to linger over a pint of real ale. Plus, it's great for families or if you're popping in with the dog, as they've sorted access for wheelchairs and allow furry friends in the bar. On the downside, though, space is at a premium with only a handful of seats, so it can get booked solid quickly, and I've heard a few tales of minor annoyances like someone vaping nearby or a lively dog causing a stir, which might spoil the mood if you're after a peaceful evening. All in all, it's a solid spot for good grub and a laugh, but it's worth keeping those little niggles in mind to set your expectations right – I'd definitely recommend giving it a go if you're in the area.

Cons
-
Seating is quite limited, so it fills up fast and you'll want to book ahead to avoid missing out.

Occasionally, you might run into disruptions from other visitors, like vaping or an energetic dog, which can put a bit of a dampener on things.
-
Not every visit is flawless, as a few folks have mentioned mixed experiences with the overall vibe.

Had a fantastic home cooked meal here today. Actually surprised at the quality as we are often disappointed. Lots of quality vegetarian options for me, my partner enjoyed his meat dish. Will definitely come back.
Nice atmosphere, great service. The menu and food was of a good standard with generous portion sizes at a reasonable cost. A Very enjoyable evening was had by our party.
We called in for a drink at about 9.00 last night. Noticed a man Vaping near us so decided to move seats. We moved to the alcove seating near the kitchen. Then realised someone thought it a good idea to bring there dog in and allow it to run around the pup as other people where encouraging it to chase after a straw they where throwing. All in full view of the staff.
Surely the pub has house rules concerning Vaping and the control of dogs on the premises.
I am a local, used the pub for over 25yrs. People's perception of behaviour and consideration for others has changed.
I do not think it fair that I and others should put up with this type of selfish behaviour.
Great food, booking recommended but not rushed from your table once you have eaten.
Menu has some fantastic choices and there are always specials on. Prices realistic, starter and main plus drinks circa £35 per head.
This is a dog friendly place with a traditional pub feel. There is a good-sized car park just across the road. I saw wheelchair access ramps to the restaurant area. Dogs are allowed in the main bar area but not in the dining area, although we did order and eat a meal in the bar area with our dog. I got the feeling that we should have booked a table to eat had we done our research. The waiting on staff gave an exceptional service, the manager was very helpful. The food was mediocre, but reasonable value.
