About This Pub

Ah, The Drayton Arms – it's one of those classic London pubs that just feels like a warm hug on a chilly day, you know? Tucked away on Old Brompton Road, it's got this authentically British charm with elegant touches that make you want to settle in for a pint or a proper meal. I love how they've nailed the drinks side of things; their range of cask ales and craft beers is brilliant, and it's perfect if you're chatting with mates over a few rounds. The food's generally a winner too, especially those Sunday roasts that folks rave about – they really hit the spot with classic ingredients given a creative edge. And the setting? It's got that lovely architecture and a fun link to the nearby theatre, which adds a bit of excitement to the mix. But let's be honest, it's not all perfect; service can vary, with some staff being absolute stars while others seem a bit off their game, like when you're just asking for a beer suggestion. Plus, a couple of dishes didn't quite live up to the hype, and the noise level can ramp up, making it feel a tad overwhelming at times. Still, for anyone popping by Earl's Court, it's worth a visit – just go in with realistic expectations and you'll likely have a cracking time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • It's got that authentic British pub vibe, with a discreetly stylish setting that's perfect for a relaxed drink or a hearty meal.
  • The selection of cask ales, craft beers, and fine wines is spot on, making it a top choice for beer enthusiasts.
  • Food hits the mark, especially the Sunday roasts and other classic British dishes with a creative twist – always a treat if you're in the mood for something comforting.
  • The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, especially with the pub theatre nearby, adding a bit of extra entertainment to your visit.
  • Great architecture and location in Earl's Court make it feel like a proper London gem, ideal for a casual afternoon pint or a lazy brunch.
Cons
  • Service can be a bit inconsistent; sometimes it's spot on, but other times staff might seem a tad uninterested or annoyed, like when asking for recommendations.
  • Ordering at the bar means you're doing a fair bit yourself, which isn't always ideal if you're after more attentive help.
  • A few dishes fall short, such as the sticky toffee pudding that was dry and unpleasant in one go – a real shame after a good meal.
  • It can get quite noisy, especially in a bustling London spot, which might put off those looking for a quieter evening.
  • The toilets being upstairs next to the theatre could be a hassle for anyone with mobility issues or just wanting convenience.

Always a decent meal and good beers on offer. Service is okay, order at bar so do most of it yourself. Nice London pub setting. The toilets are up some stairs next to a local theatre which is interesting.

The service and my Sunday roast were excellent. Ailish, who looked after us, was a delight and ensured we had a nice time. I will definitely be coming back, and it's worth a visit if you're in the area. Great architecture

Nice British pub in the heart of Earl’s Court. I stopped by here on a weekday afternoon for a pint and quick bite. The place was near empty so it felt extra chill. Service was just okay. The bartender looked a little annoyed when I asked him for advice on what type of beer to get. I ordered a pale ale and the crab toasty, which both tasted lovely. All in all, there is a slight chance I might come back to try the dinner menu items, but I am sure there are pubs in the neighborhood that offer friendlier service.

This was a wonderfully delicious place. We got the family two person meal which was plenty of food for my spouse and I. It was well made. Their sticky toffee pudding was not good at all. It was dry and tasted unpleasant, and the cream was lumpy, not smooth. I regretted biting into it as I was left with that taste in my mouth. The dinner was so good though. Much worth to go to!!
