About This Pub

Ah, The Kings Arms – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local haunt with a bit of an exotic edge, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews and their website, it's all about that unbeatable atmosphere where you can kick back with friends, enjoy live sports on the big screen, or soak up the history in their beautifully preserved interior. The food steals the show though; their Indian and Nepalese offerings are spot on, with reviewers raving about dishes like chicken choila and momos, and even the veggie options get high marks for being fresh and satisfying. Pair that with friendly staff who make you feel right at home, and you've got a place that's buzzing with positive vibes and a solid 4.5 rating overall. On the flip side, it's not perfect – there was that one review warning about undercooked chicken, which is a bit of a worry, so I'd say it's wise to be cautious with certain meals. Still, with its mix of traditional pub classics and international flavours, it's a welcoming spot that's worth a visit if you're in the area, especially for a casual night out or to catch the big game.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is an absolute delight, with a fantastic range of Indian and Nepalese dishes that bring a fresh twist to traditional pub grub – think tasty curries, biryanis, and even wholesome momos that hit the spot every time.
  • It's got a brilliant atmosphere for catching live sports, complete with a cosy beer garden and big screens, making it a top spot to relax with mates over a pint.
  • The staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming, always ready with a smile and helpful advice, which really adds to that homely feel.
  • As a historic pub, it has this charming old-school interior that's been preserved beautifully, giving it a unique character that's hard to beat.
  • They've got a solid selection of beers, wines, and spirits, plus plenty of vegetarian options, so there's something for everyone, whether you're after a classic British bite or something a bit more adventurous.
Cons
  • There have been a few mentions of food not being cooked properly, like with some chicken dishes, so it's worth giving your meal a quick check to avoid any disappointments.
  • The opening hours can seem a tad confusing with varying times listed, which might make it tricky to plan a visit, especially on Sundays.

If you order anything chicken related, cut it open to see if it is cooked properly. Do NOT order the MOMO Cha Chicken. They do not cook it thoroughly. They are small dumplins with chicken inside. Trusting them to cook the food, I dipped them into the sauce bowls provided and ate the small dumplins whole (slightly bigger than a sushi square). The undercooked food resulted in me projectile vomiting about an hour and a half later. A painful, and horrible experience. I was puking over the course of 4 or so hours. Fell asleep, woke up to puke, fell asleep and was unable to eat a full meal for over 48 hours. A shame, because their behaviour during the service was efficient, helpful, and friendly. Will go there again, but drinks next time, NO FOOD EVER AGAIN. Atmosphere was great. Good place to watch a football match.

Superb pub. Nice, spacious place to meet friends and watch football; the staff are friendly and helpful; and the Indian and Nepalese dishes are very, very tasty (I can particularly recommend the chicken choila). Very highly recommended!

The Kings Arms in Hanwell offers a diverse Indian and Nepalese cuisine including featuring popular items like curry, biryani, tandoori dishes, as well as Nepalese specialties such as dal bhat, momos, and few other vegetarian dishes, alongside traditional pub fare.

I've visited twice and would return again and again. My friend and I first dropped by on a Wednesday and ordered wine and food. We ordered pizza which was delicious. The staff were friendly and we noticed they play live sports so decided to return to watch the F1 the following Sunday, When we returned to watch the F1, the team were quick to pop it on the TV. This time we ordered the nachos and again, it was delicious. There is a good, friendly crowd in there, and the staff are just so lovely. I would recommend!
