About This Pub
Ah, The Dick Whittington in South Oxhey – it's one of those pubs that just feels like part of the neighbourhood, you know? From the reviews, it's clear that the staff really go the extra mile with their warm and efficient service, which makes popping in for a drink or a bite feel like a proper treat. I love how it's buzzing with that community spirit; it's been around for ages and gets packed, which is great if you're after a lively chat with locals. The back garden is a real gem for whiling away an afternoon, and the food sounds spot on – imagine tucking into a massive, glossy rack of ribs or that standout Yorkshire surprise that left someone chuffed to bits. On the other hand, it's pretty no-frills, with a limited selection of drinks that might leave you wanting more options, and being cash only could throw a spanner in the works if you're not prepared. Still, if you're in the mood for a traditional pub experience without any fancy bells and whistles, it's definitely worth a visit – just keep those minor TV glitches in mind if you're planning to catch a game. All in all, it's a solid spot that does the basics brilliantly while keeping that homely charm.

This pub has been part of the community for a lot of years. It's very busy ..it is not a place I normally go into but I went in for the first time.. it was a good evening..
Great local pub with good choice of drinks, friendly and polite bar staff
Great service, patient bar girl with our complicated order ! Other customers very friendly and chatty. Nice back garden & an ambient conservative area which felt more private, lady next to us had the most amazing , huge, glossy, glazed rack of ribs or something, we thought looked very good & generous portion ! We didn't eat, only drinks ! Very dog friendly & kind to dogs !! Lovely enjoyable visit & pubs in the Green King chain have good prices. Thank you all !
Just stopped for lunch and had an amazing Yorkshire surprise. Waw. I really enjoyed it.
A traditional pub, but very basic. A limited choice of drinks available and was cash payment only. Watched a game on TV and there was a few minor issues with the reception, but it was watchable.
