About This Pub

Ah, The Devonshire Arms in Blackpool – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local haunt, you know? From what I've gathered, the team there really knows how to make you feel at home right from the off, with their warm welcomes and that genuine community spirit. They're all about fresh, tasty grub at prices that won't break the bank, whether you're tucking into a sizzling skillet or grabbing a burger, and they've got options for everyone, including those after something meat-free. It's brilliant for families too, with activities for the little ones and different rooms to suit your mood – quiet for a chat or buzzy for watching the match. On the flip side, though, it's not perfect; a few folks have mentioned the food can sometimes fall short, like ending up with overcooked dishes that leave you disappointed. And if it's a peak time, you might have to wait a tad longer for your order. Overall, it's a solid choice for a laid-back evening or a catch-up with mates, as long as you go in with realistic expectations – the good bits definitely outweigh the occasional slip-ups, making it worth a visit if you're in the area.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely lovely and go out of their way to make you feel welcome, which really adds to the cosy vibe.
  • They use fresh, quality ingredients for their menus, including great options for veggies and vegans, and the prices are fair and honest.
  • It's a proper community spot in Blackpool, supporting local charities and offering a free function area for groups – feels like they're part of the neighbourhood.
  • The food is spot on for pub grub, with tasty sizzling skillets, flame-grilled burgers, and daily deals that make it easy on the wallet.
  • Family-friendly atmosphere with activities for the kids, and plenty of room choices for a quiet catch-up or a lively gathering.
Cons
  • Food quality can be hit or miss; one experience had it coming out burnt and dry, which was a real letdown.
  • Wait times might stretch a bit when it's busy, so it's worth keeping that in mind if you're in a rush.

First time here for A meal with my partner, as adviced by our children to give it A try. (Even though we actually live the other side of Blackpool. However is worth the taxi fare). We very much enjoyed our meals, especially my husband. As he is A fussy eater. More so, when it comes to his steaks. We could not fault any of our food and was absolutely delicious. Also the service was excellent, decor and the atmosphere was very good and cleanliness of the toilets was superb. Very impressed that much, we have now decided this is the place for my partners Birthday family meal. And hope they enjoy it as much as we did. Only A week away, and are Looking forward.

We often visit for family gatherings and birthdays. It's our place of choice because it has that cozy feel about it. The decor and upkeep is good. Highlight has to be the staff -they are lovely, really go out of their way to make sure you have a great time for the duration of your stay. They are very attentive - we forgot birthday candles for our cake last time by accident and they were kind enough to provide some for us to use (without asking I might add), so really thank you very much for that! Drinks are very reasonably priced, food definitely is. Portion sizes good. The menu changes often enough that there's something new to try. Never had an issue with the speed of service at the bar , even during busy times. Even with food during peak ordering times if there is a longer wait time that they have been open and honest about it to warn us ahead of ordering. Clean facilities, everything works. Nice and cosy and different seating areas including outdoor depending on what you're looking for. Honestly we really enjoy coming and probably will for years to come. Highly recommend.

Staff were lovely. Food was shockingly bad. Ordered a mixed grill and could've smashed windows with it, aswell as teeth. Burnt, dry and rock hard.

We visit regularly and never had any issues with food or how long it takes. We understand when its busy, the wait times will be a bit longer. Danielle is an amazing server and always tends to our every need - even bringing over activities and games for the kids. Would recommend to anyone!

Was my first time there today and I like it because there are different rooms you can choose to eat or drink. My husband and I wanted a more quiet room to relax and glad there was one there but other rooms can be busy but it's all good as you have a choice. We got burgers and chips and it was nice and the price is right. I definitely recommend this place to chill around the area.
