About This Pub

Ah, Cask Micropub, what a lovely little spot in Blackpool! From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, it's one of those places that just nails the basics while adding a personal touch that makes you smile. The staff are proper legends, always up for a laugh and dishing out tips on the brews, which really elevates the experience – it's like having a knowledgeable mate behind the bar. They've got this fantastic range of real ales and ciders that cater to all tastes, and the cosy atmosphere makes it ideal for a chilled afternoon or evening, especially if you're into your craft beers. On the flip side, the hours can look a bit confusing at first glance, so you'd want to confirm before heading out, and being a smaller venue, it might not suit if you're after a big night out or fancy a full meal. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed drink, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area – just go with an open mind and enjoy the vibe!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to chat about the beers, making every visit feel like catching up with mates.
  • They've got a cracking selection of real ales, ciders, and craft beers on tap, with the option to try a few before you commit, which is just spot on for beer enthusiasts.
  • The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a cosy decor that makes you feel right at home, perfect for a relaxed pint or a quick stop before an event.
  • It's well-run and organised, offering outside seating for nicer days, and it's clear the owner puts a lot of heart into the place.
Cons
  • The operating hours seem a bit muddled in the details, with varying times listed for Sundays, so it might be worth double-checking to avoid any disappointment.
  • As it's a micropub, space could feel a tad tight if it gets busy, and there doesn't seem to be much mention of food options, so you might need to pop elsewhere for a bite.

While we only popped in for one drink before an event, the gentleman behind the bar was funny, friendly and very knowledgeable. Happy to let my partner try all the different beers on tap before deciding what he wanted, all the while giving info about each one. Highly recommended all around!

If you're a craft beer lover in the area, do not miss out on the Layton Cask Micro Pub. The decor is absolutely stunning, with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The attention to detail is impressive, and it's clear that the owner Paul has put a lot of love and care into the design. As for the beer selection, it's spot on. There's something for everyone here, from hoppy IPAs to rich stouts and everything in between. The prices are more than fair, especially given the quality of the beer and the overall experience. What really sets this place apart, though, is the staff. They're all knowledgeable craft beer enthusiasts who are passionate about what they do. They're happy to chat with you about the different beers on tap and offer recommendations based on your preferences. I have to give a special shout-out to Gaz and Lee, who were incredibly helpful and friendly during my visit. And finally, I have to mention The Fiend Brewery beer, which was absolutely fantastic. It was the stand out beer for me, and I highly recommend giving it a try. Overall, Layton Cask Micro Pub is an outstanding spot for beer lovers. The decor is beautiful, the beer selection is top-notch, the prices are fair, and the staff are wonderful. Don't miss out on this gem of a pub!
