About This Pub
Oh, mate, let me tell you about The Curtains Up; it's one of those pubs that just hits the spot every time. Tucked away in West Kensington, it's got that classic British charm with a warm, inviting feel that's perfect for catching up with friends over a pint. The food really steals the show – think mouthwatering Sunday roasts with all the fixings, or solid British classics like fish and chips that folks rave about, all made with seasonal ingredients and a nod to sustainability. And the drinks? They've got a cracking selection of ales, craft beers, and cocktails that pair brilliantly with whatever you're tucking into. The events are a highlight too; whether it's a quiz night that gets everyone laughing or something tied to Queen's Tennis, it's always buzzing in the best way. On the flip side, it can get rammed during busy periods, so planning ahead is a must if you want a table, and the prices are a bit on the higher end for a casual outing, but you get what you pay for. All in all, it's a solid choice for anyone wanting a genuine pub experience – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, you won't be disappointed!
Pros and Cons
Pros

-
It's got a fantastic drink selection, from craft beers and ales to cocktails, perfect for pairing with a hearty meal.
-
Prime location near West Kensington station and Queen's Tennis makes it super convenient for a quick pint or a full day out.
Cons
-
It does get pretty packed during peak times and events, so you might have to book ahead if you don't fancy queuing.
-
With moderate prices, it can add up a bit if you're planning a big night with mates, though it's worth it for the quality.
-
As a traditional pub, it might feel a tad old-school for those after something more modern or trendy.

We had an incredible experience at The Curtains Up. The chicken hen local was tender and delicious, and the Dilly Pig roast was perfectly seasoned. The Yorkshire pudding was to die for—crisp and fluffy, just as it should be. Crafty beer selections complemented the hearty meals perfectly. The atmosphere felt warm and welcoming, and Matthew made our night with his friendly, attentive service. If you’re looking for comforting, homemade food and a cozy local vibe, this is the place to go!
Incredible quiz! If you’re looking for a Sunday’s evening event this is what you’re looking for. We have had a roast and then stayed for the quiz they were both amazing and we really enjoyed ourselves. Everyone was so friendly and such good sports making it a perfect evening! I did not know entertainment until I had the pleasure to attend this amazing pub Would 11/10 recommend
Visited here on my first visit to London. When I asked recommendations for fish and chips, a lot of folks recommended this place. I came here to chill, beer and enjoy my fish and chips. Ray did full justice to that. He recommended some local beer and made my visit really pleasant. The fish and chips here is truly out of the world. Very buttery and perfect crust. A must visit when you want to just lay back and enjoy on a cold evening.
Neighborhood kids friendly kinda of pub. Decor is on par with all other pubs & bars in London. Quick service and drink prices are reasonable. They have serve foods which I heard are quite good as well.
We really enjoyed our night out at The Curtains Up, it had a wonderful atmosphere to it and there was also a Theatre production on that night
The young lady that greeted us was lovely and she checked with the Chef to see what items on the menu I could have (I have severe allergies). Our pork and fennel sausages and a hamburger with fries were very tasty and such big servings.
We will definitely be back for another dinner soon. We met some wonderful locals who enjoyed a very friendly chat.
