About This Pub

Ah, The Clarence – it's one of those pubs that just warms your cockles from the moment you walk in. I've got to say, the staff really steal the show; they're so welcoming and remember your drinks, which makes you feel like a regular straight away. Whether it's catching the footie on the telly or joining in with the singers and games, the place has this effortless, fun energy that's perfect for unwinding with friends. On the flip side, if you're after a wide selection of beers, especially real ales, you might be a tad disappointed as the options are more straightforward. And without a website, it's a bit of a faff to get the latest on hours or events, but overall, it's a solid spot for an affordable, good-natured night out. I'd pop in if you're in the area – you might just end up making it your new local!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant and make you feel right at home – shout out to folks like Charlie and Martina who remember your order and add that personal touch.
  • It's got a really relaxed and welcoming vibe, perfect for a good laugh, watching the footie, or just enjoying a pint with mates.
  • Prices are spot on for a night out; you won't break the bank here, making it a great spot for casual get-togethers.
  • The atmosphere is lively with singers, games, and a fun crowd, so it's ideal if you're after a proper local pub experience.
Cons
  • It's not a real ale haven, so if you're a craft beer enthusiast, you might find the options a bit limited.
  • There's no website or much online info, which makes it tricky to check things like opening times before heading over.
  • From what I can tell, it might not always be buzzing, especially if you're looking for something more upscale or with a wider range of activities.

The Clarence Pub is a sports bar, one large bar area with horseshoe shaped bar with wooden floors and large TV on few walls and Chelsea shirts. The Lady serving was very nice, welcoming and friendly. Spoke to couple of locals who were also up to a chat. The price were very reasonable, pint of John Smith, two large wines and packet of chrisp only £16. Only do bottle of Processo at £20 No real ale but full range of drinks.
