About This Pub
You know, when I popped into Elephant and Barrel, I was really taken by how they've nailed that fusion of old-school British pub charm with the bold, exciting tastes of Indian cuisine – it's like a warm hug with a spicy kick. Folks are raving about the food, from crispy onion bhajis to flavour-packed curries, and it's all prepared fresh, making every bite feel special. The garden area's a proper highlight too, with that enormous elephant that flaps its ears and swings its tail; it's such a fun surprise and makes the place feel unique, especially if you're there with kids or even your dog, as they're made to feel welcome. The team behind the bar and in the kitchen are spot on, always ready with a smile and quick service that keeps things flowing nicely. But it's not all perfect – the menu sticks to certain Indian styles, so if you've got a particular dish in mind that doesn't make the cut, you might end up a bit let down. And on quieter evenings, it can feel a tad subdued, which isn't ideal if you're after a more energetic night out. All in all, it's a lovely spot for a catch-up with mates or a family meal, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Experience was top tier. The garden ambiance was unexpected but amazing. The service was very very good. Cuisine was great however, it was catered to a specific region which was good but just so happens to exclude my favorite dish (saag). Kids meals were good and included ice cream. Would def come again.
What a lovely place! We are here on a Tuesday evening so very quiet. We have stayed for 3 drinks and decided to try the food. Onion bhajis are light and crispy. The green chilli chicken is spicy. SPICY and I am here for it even though it made my tongue numb. The Gunter chicken has a delicious sauce and the bread is fab! Will definitely be back even though Jumbo the life size elephant scares the shit out of me!
Great place. Kid and dog friendly. Has a FANTASTIC giant elephant in the beer garden. It's ears flap and tail swings in the window.
Music wasn't too loud.
The food was tasty (Kadala Curry with Lemon Rice and Crispy Okra). The children's menu comes with a milk lolly. No scoop ice cream, but the kids like them.
They also have the games on and pub quiz nights.

When in London I always make it a point to get Indian food, especially Biriyani. I went to this place thinking of eating typical fish and chips but they had biriyani on their menu and it was good! They have a life sized elephant in the back garden you NEED to see!
My dad and I came for a meal since we were staying near and not from arround here. And oh boy did we make a wonderful discovery ! The food was absolutely delicious, we had the Spicy Gunter Chicken Curry and a Keralan Prawn Mango curry and we absolutely loved it! The familial atmosphere makes it a great place to come with family or friends for a nice beer ;).
And I have to thanks the staff working there (06/03/2025) all were absolutely amazing and that experience wouldn't have been so wonderful without them ! And thank you for the gift ;)
