About This Pub

Ah, The Cow – it's one of those pubs that really hits the mark for a relaxed catch-up with mates or even a work do. I love how they've kept that traditional pub feel alive in the heart of Westfield, with its cosy spots and sweeping views from the dining area, all decked out with hanging ivy for a touch of greenery. The food's a real winner; those 28-day aged steaks are tender and packed with flavour, and the classics like fish and chips leave you scraping the plate clean. Pair it with a great selection of beers, wines, or cocktails, and you're set for a proper good time. It's especially ace for watching live sports – think football, rugby, or tennis on the screens, with an atmosphere that's buzzing but not over the top. Plus, if you're after somewhere for a meeting or a small gathering, their private rooms are well-equipped with TVs and Wi-Fi, and the team goes out of their way to handle things like dietary needs, which is always a plus. On the flip side, though, it does have its downsides; the outside area often feels underutilised with not enough seating, so you might struggle to find a spot, especially on a sunny day. And when it's packed during match days or weekends, it can get a bit hectic, with queues and the odd service slip-up that leaves you wishing for a smoother experience. Overall, it's a solid choice for a pint and a bite, but I'd say it's best visited on a quieter day if you're after a more chilled-out vibe – gives you a chance to appreciate what it does so well without the crowds getting in the way.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are always so friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • The food is spot on – those prime British steaks are juicy and full of flavour, and the pub classics like fish and chips go down a treat.
  • It's a brilliant spot for catching live sports; the atmosphere gets lively without being overwhelming, almost like being at the stadium itself.
  • The location is dead convenient, just a short stroll from Stratford station and near the London Stadium, ideal for a quick stop after shopping or an event.
  • They've got great private spaces for meetings or parties, with all the tech you need and packages that cater to different needs, including dietary preferences.
Cons
  • The seating can be a bit tight, especially outside where there's not enough space, so you might end up standing or losing your spot.
  • It gets incredibly busy during big games or events, which can make it feel a tad chaotic and hard to find a table.
  • There are occasional service hiccups, like tables being whisked away when you're not looking, which might leave you a bit frustrated.

Whenever I come over from Canada to watch a West Ham match I always stop into The Cow for a few pints and some food, staff are always friendly and welcoming and the food and atmosphere is great! What I neglected to share was a good laugh I experienced in the washroom, after washing hands went to use the electric dryers, which there are two, there was a line up because there was a guy using one for each hand😂 He had the look of dare say something, big hard guy🤦🏼

Outside area has not enough seating, so much wasted space. We had a small table outside which my friends and I could stand around to rest our drinks, no seats. As soon as we go to get another round, member of staff quickly snatched our table, folded it up and took it away? Seating inside lacks atmosphere. Other options in the area are much better. The security guard noticed and brought us another small table for us which we appreciated. Imagine getting better customer service from the security rather than the staff. Did not eat food here so cannot rate.

Convenient location. Very decent pub and spot to watch sports on the weekend. Can get very busy when games are on. Went in with a few friends, and we all had the same thing. Cyda battered Fish and chips. It was quite good, nothing was left on any plate. I also added a side of Onion rings, good as well. Side note: I don’t understand the addition of curry to Fish and Chips but it’s fine. Stumbled on some beer/cider called Jubel. Very light, flavorful and refreshing, this was on the recommendation of our waiter. Had 3. The dessert could have been better, I already enjoyed everything else so I can let that slide. Good experience

Came in for the first time b4 West Ham game as given up on bars in ground, always loved Youngs Pubs, Lamb is my go to in town. Excellent, why have I waited so long. Great Ales, Scotch Eggs Sausage rolls. Nice staff, good service even though very busy. Well done, Excellent.

Booked this place for a team meeting, this is the second time I have been and the service is great. They offer various meeting rooms/spaces, the packages are great and they are happy to accommodate various dietary requirements. We booked the full day package to include unlimited tea&coffee and a lunch buffet which we loved. Great food selection and most importantly we thoroughly enjoyed it. Andora and the rest of the team took great care of us, thank you!
