About This Pub

Ah, The County in Cambuslang – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the staff are absolute stars, always up for a laugh and making sure everyone has a good time, which really sets the tone for a cosy evening. It's brilliant for hosting all sorts of events too; folks rave about the function suite, with its disco floor and decent DJ setups that make parties memorable without breaking the bank. And the prices? They're fair and straightforward, so you can enjoy a few drinks without worrying about the tab. On the flip side, though, there's a bit of chatter about the owner's online antics, posting stuff that some find off-putting and a tad controversial, which could sour the atmosphere for those who prefer to keep things light. Still, with most people singing its praises and a solid 4.0 rating overall, it's worth popping in if you're nearby – just go with an open mind and you'll likely have a cracking time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making every visit feel like catching up with old mates.
  • It's a fantastic spot for events like christenings, weddings, or birthday parties, with a great function suite and even a DJ to keep things lively.
  • Prices are spot on – reasonable and won't leave you feeling short-changed after a night out.
  • The locals add a real community vibe, chatting away and making newcomers feel right at home.
Cons
  • There's some controversy around the owner's social media posts, which have upset a few folks and might make the place feel a bit divisive for some.
  • Based on the reviews, it seems like the odd negative experience can stand out, potentially putting a dampener on things if you're not in the right crowd.

the owner or maybe manager of this pub posts a lot of pro Israel stuff on the glasgow bartender jobs face book page. he comments right wing shit underneath various posts about demonstrations in town. seems bad to me.

I didn't have any food but what a great wee bar. Staff Fiona and Danni are excellent and the locals were so friendly. My first time in this pub but not my last.

Much anticipated visit to see the place after the last owners/family ran it into the ground with little to no interest or investment in it. Really nice place to hold a function. Decent DJ and liked the disco floor. Nice friendly bar staff.
