The County in Gateshead

Ah, The County – it's one of those classic pubs in Gosforth that just feels like a proper local gem, tucked away in Newcastle upon Tyne. I've got to say, what really stands out is the brilliant selection of beers; whether you're after a smooth cask ale or something crafty, it's a treat for anyone who appreciates a good pint. The staff are an absolute delight, always up for a chat and making sure you're looked after, which gives it that homely, welcoming touch. Plus, if you're a sports fan, it's brilliant for watching the likes of Premier League football or rugby on the big screens – and being dog-friendly just adds to the charm, making it easy to pop in with your pooch. On the flip side, though, ordering food can be a bit of a faff sometimes; one mate mentioned it was harder than it should be, and the accents might throw you off if you're not local. The grub itself, like the pizza, is alright but nothing to rave about – it's more of an afterthought really. And the atmosphere can feel a bit bloke-y at times, so it might not suit everyone for a relaxed evening out.
