About This Pub

Ah, The Conquering Hero – it's one of those neighbourhood gems that just makes you smile when you walk in. From what folks are saying, the staff are top-notch, always up for a chat and remembering your usual, which gives it that real community feel. The food's another winner; I've heard rave reviews about the garlic bread and those Sunday roasts that sound like a proper treat, especially considering how affordable everything is. And let's not forget that adorable pet pig lounging in the beer garden – it's such a fun, unique touch that adds a bit of magic to the place, drawing in everyone from young crowds to the older lot for events like live music nights or even a Burns supper. On the flip side, it can get a bit backed up with food service at times, so you might have to be patient if you're peckish. Overall, it's a solid spot for a laid-back evening, with that excellent 4.5 rating speaking volumes about the good times had here – I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're after a pub with heart and a dash of personality.

  • The food's a real treat – think decent choices like tasty garlic bread and special Sunday roasts that hit the spot.
  • Pint prices are spot on for a local spot, keeping things affordable without skimping on quality.

Cons
  • There can be a bit of a wait for food sometimes, which might put you off if you're in a rush.
  • The operating hours seem a tad confusing from what I've seen, so it's worth double-checking before heading out.

Super little local pub, one of the few around Norbury - lovely bar staff, who definitely know their regulars. Food is decent (loved the garlic bread) and a good amount of choice. Pint prices are reasonable and there is a good amount of seating - nice hubbub all around and friendly atmosphere.

Thank you so much for a wonderful Burns night. Great folk band and superb food. How your genious chef managed to serve a fabulous 3 course meal for 70 from his tiny kitchen I do not know. Your Sunday roasts are also very special. Along with your daily menus, always a joy to visit.

Amazing neighbourhood pub with a lot of character and a pet pig at the side of the pretty large beer garden out the back! sadly didn't have time to stay for food, apparently there was a bit of a wait, but it looked pretty good and the menu was really interesting for a pub, so I guess we'll have to go back. They do specials on Monday and Tuesday; loaded fries for a fiver. Decent.

(Famous)Pub pig+affordable even for students+rebel spirit+music=winner. If this pub were in my neighbourhood, I would go there every day. I wish we had had something like this when I was a fashion design student. No wonder it's a favorite with GenZ and seniors alike. Went there twice on my last London trip to see Frances Bacon the pig, but she is an old lady and prefers long naps to noisy humans. ;) not blaming her. Well- better luck next time. They play 80s MTV style music on a screen, on Wednesdays there is a traditional band playing. Their facade lightning is excellent as well. Have what looks like a tasty Sunday roast offer. Liked the donation corner and ladies' items provided in the restroom. One suggestion: maybe add some more veggie or even vegan dishes to the menu.

Really nice pub, great options for outside space. The pig was snug in front of the fire and it was nice to see her. The regulars are really friendly and the staff too. I'd imagine it will be buzzing with a great atmosphere once everything fully opens
