About This Pub
Ah, the Railway Tavern – it's one of those unassuming pubs tucked away near Tulse Hill station that pulls you in with its cosy interior and that massive garden out back. From what I've gathered from folks who've been, the staff are absolute gems, always ready with a smile and quick to sort you out, which really adds to the welcoming feel. The outdoor space is a standout, with its covered balcony and fun games making it ideal for a laugh with mates on a warm evening, and they've got a cracking lineup of events like live music that keeps things buzzing. The food and drinks are generally spot on too – affordable pints and a solid menu with pizzas that often get rave reviews – but let's be honest, it can get heaving at times, and that's when waits for your meal drag on or the kitchen might slip up a bit. Still, it's a solid choice for a casual get-together or watching the footie, and I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in the area, just maybe go early to beat the crowds.

Often meet here to catch-up with friends. Large, friendly pub with a garden. Extensive food menu. Good customer service.
Such a nice place to visit, atmosphere is great and gets very busy in the evening. The food is affordable and delicious, but remember it might take some time given how many people they have to feed. Vibe is great, especially in the summer and warmer weather, with a large outdoor space it's a great place for gatherings
This is a lovely pub. The staff are helpful and friendly. Good selection of drinks. They have a Happy Hour
Good atmosphere with football available to watch
Unfortunately I'm not sure what was wrong in the kitchen today
It took ages for the pizza to arrive and when they did they were rock hard and burnt

🍺 £6.25 Amstel
The Railway Tavern is located at the southern end of Tulse Hill in South London. The nearest station is Tulse Hill mainline which is just opposite the pub.
This Victorian pub was built in 1881 and is surprisingly large given the small frontage.
The decor here is contemporary with bold dark colours, conventional furniture and vibrant artworks and prints. The pub is divided in to three areas with the main bar and servery located at the front. At the back of the main bar is a two tiered section which has a pool table, an open kitchen and table football. At the rear of the pub is a huge beer garden with cosy huts, plenty of seating and a table tennis table.
The beer selection was all keg, with a familiar line up mainstream brands and local London brews to choose from. I decided on an Amstel, my pint was great, price point was just above average. The food menu is 12” New York style pizza, prices range from £8 to £14.
I arrived just before 6pm on a warm Saturday afternoon in September. The pub was especially busy in the beer garden which was absolutely packed. There were a fair few in to watch the Palace V Man Utd game which was showing on the many screens dotted around the pub. The atmosphere throughout was superb, there was a lovely local feel with a broad section of punters in from all walks of life. The service was on point, the team were welcoming and friendly.
Visiting @therailwaytulsehill was a most enjoyable experience, although this is a big boozer, it retains a local pub feel. I loved the decor, loved the vibe, the beer garden is a big bonus and there is plenty to keep you entertained. I would most definitely recommend a visit.

Great pub. Came here to watch the football and grab lunch with the family. Good draft options, lovely beer garden and the pizza was the highlight especially the burrata ball for an extra decedant topping! Staff were friendly and helpful. Also conveniently place right next to station. Would recommend a visit!
