About This Pub
Ah, The Colebrook – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Solihull, you know? From what I've gathered chatting about it, the staff are genuinely warm and on point, always ready with a smile and top-notch service that makes you want to linger. The food's a winner too; imagine tucking into a delicious tandoori chicken skewer or a massive mixed grill that's full of flavour, and don't even get me started on their Sunday roasts, which sound like a proper treat for the whole family. It's got that cosy atmosphere with open fires that really sets the scene for a good catch-up or a relaxed meal. Plus, being near the M42 and spots like Shirley Park, it's dead handy for a pit stop after a wander. On the flip side, though, it's not all smooth sailing – some folks have mentioned waits for food stretching longer than promised, and there've been grumbles about certain dishes, like a tough steak that didn't quite live up to the hype. It's a bit of a letdown when no one's around to say sorry for the hold-up, but overall, it's still a place I'd recommend giving a go if you're after good value and a welcoming spot, just maybe plan for a bit more time than you think.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely lovely and really attentive, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
-
The food is a real highlight – think tasty options like tandoori chicken skewers and hearty mixed grills that hit the spot every time.
-
It's got such a warm and welcoming vibe, with open fires and a cosy atmosphere that's perfect for catching up with mates or enjoying a family meal.
-
Great location near Shirley Park and the M42, making it an easy stop after a day out, and they've got menus for everyone, including kids, veggies, and vegans.
-
The beer selection is spot on, and it's a solid spot for a mid-week dinner or a traditional Sunday roast.
Cons
-
Occasionally, waits for food can drag on longer than expected, like an hour instead of the promised 35 minutes, which can be a bit frustrating.
-
Some dishes might not always hit the mark, such as the rump steak being tough and gristly, which is a shame when the rest is so good.
-
It's a pity if no one pops over to apologise for delays; it would make things feel a bit more sorted.
-
While it's generally welcoming, it might not be the place for a quick bite if you're in a rush, given those service hiccups.

We were a party of 7 and we had booked our table on Wednesday evening. We had an hours wait for our food, having been told it would be 35 minutes when we ordered. No one came over to tell us or apologise for the further. When we complained to the staff member who finally bought the meals he said what do you want me to do about it !!! There was no apology, his attitude was very poor.He was extremely rude and then completely ignored us.
He didn't come and ask us how the food was, No customer service whatsoever. One of the meals had peppers and hot sauce, but on the menu there was no mention of these. The food was alright but definitely will not be going again. I think some customer service training is definitely needed.
Had a lovely meal here on Saturday evening!
Brilliant service by the team and the tandoori chicken skewer was 10/10! Hats off to the chef!
The team all seem happy and the moral within the business is great! Lovely open fires and really welcoming.
Can’t wait to return!
Superb Christmas Dinner yesterday. The pub had a great atmosphere and the food was excellent.Thankyou so much 😊😊😊😊😊
Had a great meal here. Staff were super friendly and attentive. Mixed grill was huge and very tasty. My only negative was the rump steak very tough and gristly. Shame they don’t offer to upgrade that part to a sirloin for an extra fee, I would happily pay extra. Overall the food was very good and served quickly by the friendly staff. Will be going back soon
Dontcha just love it when things turn out splendidly? Our coach was passing along the road when ALL the passengers on board spied this boozer and called for the driver to stop. No idea what the pub would be like, it turned out like a dream. Great place, lovely staff, fab beer, good grub.
Excellent!
