About This Pub

Ah, The Elm in London is one of those hidden gems that really stands out for its quirky charm and top-notch beer choices – I mean, where else can you snag a lesser-known Czech or Korean brew without much fuss? It's a cosy spot with a nicely appointed interior and the cleanest loos I've heard of in a pub, plus there's a sweet little garden out back that makes it perfect for a sunny afternoon pint. The staff are mostly spot on, friendly as can be, and letting you order in pizza is such a clever touch for keeping things casual. On the downside, though, one review mentioned a rather unwelcoming encounter that left a sour taste, so it might not always hit the mark there. And if you're a big sports fan, the TV setup is a bit limited, missing out on the big leagues like Sky or BT, which could be a letdown for match days. All in all, with a solid 4.3 rating, it's got more ups than downs, and I'd reckon it's worth popping in for a relaxed catch-up with mates – just keep your expectations in check for the quieter times.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The beer selection is absolutely fantastic, with unique options like Czech and Korean brews that make it worth a special trip.
  • The interior is small but beautifully done, and the bathrooms are spotlessly clean – a real treat compared to some other spots.
  • Staff are generally friendly and welcoming, adding to that cosy pub atmosphere.
  • You can order in pizza, which is a brilliant idea for a relaxed evening, and they've got TV screens for some sports action.
  • It's got a lovely little garden and charming decorations that make the place feel inviting and well-kept.
Cons
  • One experience mentioned unwelcoming service from a staff member, including feeling profiled when asked for ID, which could put a dampener on things.
  • It doesn't carry major sports channels like Sky or BT, so if you're keen on watching football beyond the FA Cup, you might be out of luck.
  • The pub isn't as bustling as it deserves to be, which might make it feel a tad quiet or lacking in energy at times.

A very unique beer selection on tap worthwhile for a trip to have the experience to try some of the lesser stocked Czech and also Korean beer. Small but very nicely appointed interior and the cleanest bathrooms I've seen in any pub ive seen in any pub

Went in for a pint. The lady, was just unwelcoming. I don’t know why. I was very abruptly asked for ID, which is OK. But considering the unwelcoming feeling I felt first coming in, it just added to the weird feeling I got from bar lady, and the asking of ID felt it was more of profiling, than asking for reason of verifying my age. I live on Archel Road. And will share with my neighbours how unwelcomed I felt. Maybe I’m not gentrified enough I dunno. Or maybe she’s just like that.. but yeah, I drink a lot and rarely have come across a bar lady that has made me feel like that.

Very beautiful and well decorated pub. They’ve got a little garden too. Staff is really friendly, shame that it’s not busy as it should. Will be back!
